MAGE
Games take place in #StElsewhere either Wednesday or Thursday evenings, preferably around 8:00pm either night. The first game will hopefully run next week.

The Trench Foot Game Setting (THETFGS)

Madison, Wisconsin. Centrally located, somewhat large and separated enough from, say, Chicago or Milwaukee to be its own gathering place for mages in the area. There aren't too many, though - there's about 500,000 people in the Madison metro area, not counting the ~40,000 students of the University of Wisconsin who leave at the end of the semester. The magically inclined among them may choose to remain in the city or return home, depending on whether or not they are important.


The Magic Orders

We'll start out with the Guardians, I guess. They've been recently weakened in a power struggle between two duelling leaders: Davis in the city, and Radegast in the countryside. Davis is better liked and has heavy support in the city itself, but Radegast is the more senior and holds a lot of respect from revealing and thwarting a seer insurrection in the mid-90s. However, experiences during this event caused Radegast to withdraw from society almost entirely, and he now lives somewhere in a cabin in the woods. His loyalists know where to find him, but for the most part they sigh heavily and listen to what Davis says. They meet in an ever-changing location, but it is always a hidden room in one of the various apartment complexes around Madison.

The Mysterium are next, and this is where most of the power lies. One of the smaller orders, nonetheless the Mysterium is unlike the other orders in that its leader has been there for ages. The most senior mage in the city, Geras leads the Mysterium and is also the Hierarch of the city. Geras first came to power nearly 35 years ago and has not relinquished it since, seeing many of his companions fall to the wayside or leave the city altogether. He owns a local university bookstore, and Consilium is held in a hidden chamber below it.

Of the five orders, the Free Council is the largest in Madison. The population skews heavily towards youth, which happens to be where the Free Council draws most of its members. It is currently in the hands of Isis, a young woman who isn’t the most senior mage in the Council, but is certainly the highest regarded. Their gathering place is located somewhere in the winding catacombs beneath Camp Randall Stadium once every two months, or when situations arise -- only councilors know how to get there now, the real entrances were blocked up long ago. Leadership in the free council tends to turn over more frequently than the other orders, owing to the large student population who, upon graduating or dropping out, find their skills needed elsewhere.

The next largest is the Silver Ladder, headed by Wilde. Wilde is the second most senior mage in the city, after only Geras. However, Wilde has only led the Ladder for approximately 10 years, Still, as a master of Prime, he’s not unsuited for the job. Ladder meetings are held beneath the Capitol Building, accessed via the basement of a nearby business.

The tiniest shittiest order is the Adamantine Arrow. They’re poo poo and run by Marion, who is also poo poo. Marion claims to be ex-military, and runs the Arrow with that kind of flair, but his harsh style differs greatly from his predecessor, Pike. Pike’s whereabouts are unknown, but he vanished shortly after retiring from active duty and claimed to be taking a vacation, and to not worry about him. Meanwhile, Marion runs the Arrow like a real military might be run, which does not sit well with those in it who are not ex-military. They meet on a local farm outside of town – good for setting up discreet training areas.

Other Mages of Some Import

Doc – Free councilor, recently in from New York City. A Life master, he’s been running workshops for newer mages, but hasn’t been seen in roughly a week. A woman who knew all the secret codes etc. to contact the Free Council did so, claimed to be his girlfriend, and asked for their help to find him. Either she’s serious, and this is a good opportunity for young mages to learn some tricks, or she’s lying, and this is a good opportunity to send some young mages to trigger the trap.

the starting physical xp stays in physical xp but you can use the extra +25 to attributes (or the +15 to anything) to fill out stuff. but that +5 can't be spent on presence, only on increasing physical attributes when you get enough xp to buy a new dot.

you spent 45 on mental, so that can be tertiary.
60 on social, so that's 55 for social (secondary) and 5 from the any-attribute 25xp
65 on physical as primary, so you can still spend 5.
and you have 20 attribute xp left over.
so you could: spend 15 of it to go from a 2 dot to a 3 dot and have five left
or, spend 10 of it with the 5 left over from physical to go from Str or Stam 2 to 3 and have ten left.
