CC rules because they've swindled their way into touring the world + living the dream without that much talent, good for 'em.

These tracks don't feel Daft Punk at all, they feel very movie score-ish (first four tracks all sound the same) which I guess is the goal but why dump a bunch of money when you have a movie score that sounds like any other?

I just found out Sander Van Doorn is going to be playing a club in San Francisco in a month for $15... That's a pretty good deal, I think.

You mean an EQed sample of an old song repeated for four minutes with vocodered vocals over top of it wouldn't work well as a score? Well I'll be.

Anyone have any good mix downloads, like the ones Kill The Noise have and their site? Looking for something with a similar beat/energy, with a little diversity.

They definitely sound movie score-ish, but they are incredibly solid. The 3rd track is particularly good. If I heard this music in a movie without knowing the composer, I think I would notice that the music was a huge step above your average score. Regardless, I'm sure Disney has had a gigantic influence on the overall sound. If Daft Punk had complete control, I'm sure we'd be hearing a drastically different score. As it stands, I wanna hear more tracks like the 3rd one.

I'm not a huge Tron fan, but the Daft Punk score has my interest. I'm sure I'm not the only one, and I'm sure they know that the DP involvement will garner a lot more attention from those who might not normally be as inclined to go out and see it.

This is a song I finished - it's inspired by the movie Scarface. Maybe the closest artist going by this thread is Kavinsky? A little more retro sounding but still lots of buzzy synths. http://soundcloud.com/deetak/deetak-the-world-is-yours

Heads up to anyone in the Bay Area - The Twelves are playing at the Mezzanine on July 29th. Their remixes are amazing and I've heard their shows are even better. Best house duo now that Aeroplane is broke-up, don't miss it, mezzanine is a good venue too.

Just go with the dress code and go out to Ruby. DJ Kue and I played there a couple of summers ago and the sound system is absolutely phenomenal, and probably one of the best club systems in the states.
