Let's see: T's tugging off an old man in the back of Nice Pete's van, Mayner's got a prosthetic fece in his pernicious bowel, Lurquilla's named Lurquilla and is meandering over to Nice Pete's van with a load of wet "chernchillas"...at this point, a violent and bloody massacre would almost be a welcome relief for all involved.

They do actually have medically-beneficial synthetic feces; it was in the paper this weekend. I guess they make up poop with the right kinds of helpful bacteria and insert it somehow into your colon so the helpful bacteria start reproducin' and making all kinds of good vibes. Poor Mayner.

I'm enjoying this arc so far. Lurquilla and Mayner are amazing and this is a frightening look at Nice Pete. Only negative comment I'd have is to maybe ease up on the accents on Lurquilla & Mayner. In conclusion, the people on Assetbar are idiots.

I love the flavor it adds, but when I first read "Mayner here got a prosthetic fece what he's got to w'ar in his colon lest he hot dot them skivvies" I felt like I was staring at the Rosetta Stone. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The phrase "hot dot them skivvies" is pure magic, though.

C'mon, don't PBF this. Pete led Nathan back to the van under false pretenses of gay sex. Now he's bringing Lurquilla to the van under false pretenses of straight sex. She shouted a question at him, he answered her in a completely ominous and unsettling way. I kind of hope she finds Teodor and Nathan in the back and demands to know if this is the Olympics. FAKE EDIT: "No, it's just High School."

If something is typed, the characters are silhouetted and we don't know much about the characters, it's easy to trip all over the accented dialog and get frustrated. I didn't so much have a problem with Phillipe's dad's accent as I do with the these two hicks. It isn't ruining my enjoyment of story by any means, I just hope Pete puts an end to them, soon.

A couple of zines from Roast, essays written from characters, old "side" updates - short updates from characters between strips that mention things not in the comic (I wish these were still done). I got it on a whim once. It's a pretty great way to blow $3 a month.

Without getting too fruity-sounding I think Achewood has transcended simply being a webcomic a while back. While that's obviously and certainly the medium Onstad works in, arcs like this one and the Cartilage Head arc show that there's more brimming beneath the surface. Sometimes people just want a good chuckle, and that's fine but Onstad's strip gives us more than that. We could bicker back and forth about what makes art "good" (yes, it's subjective and probably impossible to truly quantify) but there's a valid argument to be made that "good" art is something that gives the beholder a visceral reaction and god damned if seeing our favorite cartoon stuffed teddy bear possibly taking a ten inch dong in his mouth hasn't done just that.
