Okay this is driving me insane, I heard a song the other day and I can't find it.

It was kinda folky (maybe), had a female singer, her voice was a bit raspy I think, and there might have been some whistling. It was a really catchy song, I think.

Help!

I'm looking for an album/mix-compilation. In one of the songs there was some hip hop where they did sing "new world order" or "wu world order" and there was also some melody that reminded me of the characteristic guitar from Live or Let die with Guns N' Roses.
Many of the songs had some Wu Tang Clan in them (what I remember was the ninja shaolin monologues that Wu Tang uses alot). I also remember hearing Ghostface Killer, so I'm pretty sure it was Wu Tang.

Ghost Dog OST probably.

There's several versions of it btw: one is with the tunes/RZA beats used throughout the movie, and one is the music inspired by the movie. The first has Wu World Order on it, whereas the second has the samurai quotes in it. There may be other versions of the soundtrack though.

I'm looking for a song with a music video set in a cowboy bar. It's either in the late 70s or early 80s, features a guy with no shirt on with a slug above his top lip and there's a girl riding a mechanical bull. I think it was in someone's SA profile for a while. I don't actually remember any lyrics because the video demanded full attention.

Crossposting from my PYF/R post:

Having failed miserably with googling what lyrics I think I can hear from a TV show, I turn to you lovely lot to help me find out who the artist is and what song it is.

The TV show is called Top Buzzer, a British cannabis comedy that ran for one season. From my searches there is pretty much bugger all information about it that I could find, let alone soundtracks listed for each episode.

My hearing isn't the greatest and I can only make out a few possible lines from the song, but again I've been turning up nothing.

The song in question starts at about 2:29 here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItBLGQ2Vv_Q

The bits I think I've picked out are very short and pretty much incorrect it seems:

then i dont remember what/who i was looking for

couldn't find the door

drop it on the floor

Another Goon suggested the following as the lyrics, but again with no google hits:

... Couldn't find a door, then I don't remember who I was looking for,
You'll just be some bad person, drop it on the floor,
Then I can't remember [?] anymore...

Any help would be brilliant and I thank you in advance.

Un malheur ne vient jamais seul.
There's this song that's been driving me nuts. It's probably classical, since I remember it being played on a violin. I remember it appearing in a movie during a ballroom dancing scene of some sort, but I can't remember for the life of me where it's from. In any case, here are the first two bars that I remember. I think the tempo's faster than it should be; this is all from memory.

I saw a song on my cable television's electronic music channel. I wrote it down as "TNT" by Dave Aude, however I can't find ANYTHING on that song when searching on Google. Anyone?

In fact, I've looked at every track he's ever produced, and it's not there.

Either this track was mislabeled on that channel, or I'm going crazy. I know what I saw.

As for the song, it was a disco house style track, and I know the lyrics had the word "dynamite" in them.

The name or title might not be right. I know that DirecTV's music channels often update the song info well after the song has started, and the title and artist update separately, so you can end up with mismatched information.

If the lyrics had "dynamite" in them, it may have been some sort of remix of AC/DC's TNT, possibly one of the few thousand versions of this that are floating around.

Ok, I've got a challenge for everyone. I am trying to find an electronic song that I've heard a few times, and never gotten the name of. I believe it is only a year or two old. The issue is, I cannot remember any of the words, or the music itself. I remember that it had a very catchy intro. I also think that there were male vocals (may have been none, definitely not female), and for some reason I believe the song title is about the future (tomorrow, 2010, future, something like that). I know that it is not by deadmau5 or david guetta, but i have this feeling that the artist name starts with a D.

I wish I had more information to give, this has been bugging me for weeks. Good luck!

More information: It's fairly popular (I've heard it at a few parties, played by different people who did not know each other), but I have never heard it on the radio/TV. It was played on youtube and grooveshark, but I dont think there was a music video.

Someone posted somewhere on the forums (but I can't remember where) a hip-hop video. The guy is rapping about common themes in modern sell-out rap. I think the video is set in NY and has split screen, stutter and looping effects going on which match the rhyming patterns.

I think a line went like "Sucka suck on a dick sucka suck on a dick."

Alright, I've searched around some and haven't found this song in the thread yet. I've actually got a reverse music challenge for anyone that's up for it. I know the name of the song, album, artist, everything. But I cannot find the drat song to save my life.

It is Liam Lynch's "Wax Wings" off of his album, Eel. I really need help with some solid internet sleuthing on this one -- Amazon, iTunes, YouTube, seedy and decrepit web pages, as well as multiple pages worth of Google searches have done nothing. At best, I've gotten one or two dead links after some deep searching. I even went so far as to recently try emailing Lynch on his website, but to no avail. As far as I know the album is out of print, of which I've found little to no information about. I'm ultimately interested in the song itself, first and foremost.

I was able to find a cover of the song done by Glenn Case...but it just simply isn't the same.

I originally found it years and years ago during the Napster heyday. Unfortunately, the computer poo poo out on me. Since it was a family computer, my parents threw it out without my consent before I could retrieve anything from it.

I really love this song and miss listening to it. You all are pretty much my last hope. Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This was a music video I saw years ago - must have been around 1997, 1998. Definitely no later than that. But I don't know if the song was also from that year. I think it was some kind of hip-hop/rap song, and the video was futuristic, set in this weird lab which looked like it was on a spaceship. The thing I remember most was in the background of the lab there were x-rays of weird creatures, and one kind of looked like an emu. Any clues?

hey everyone

I remember a 90's alternative video, with a girl licking a lollipop and a bald guy, both were singing and dancing and jumping around and the background (better said the colour tone) of the video was orange-y.

She would check out on other bald guys lined up for her, she had orange/red hair i think and the lollipop was big, round and twirly.

She had a high-pitched voice and the bald guy was shouting on the chorus.

Help?

This is some 90s British song, possibly Madchester, sort of Stone Roses like but less psychedelic and more pop.

Anyway, the lyric that I can recall is "Kiss me you're mad" or "Kiss me I'm mad." I forget exactly.

She says the only lyrics she remembers is 'on my way' or 'on the way', and her coworkers said it sounded like Poison or Whitesnake. It was also 80's night on the radiostation. "Here I Go Again" was a big 80s hit for Whitesnake and includes the lyrics "on my own;" that might be it.

I've been trying to identify an obscure classical song that was used in an insurance or financial ad in the 90s with a train coursing through the countryside. It had a surging, energetic "old west adventure" feel to it and featured clacking wood instruments (maybe castanets?) playing at a quick tempo in the opening fanfare. There's also a part further along in the song where a trumpet plays something along the lines of:

D, D, D, A, (short pause, drop 1 octave) A, B, D, E, E (sustain that last E for 2 seconds), pause, D, B, D, D, C, B, A (sustain that last A for a few seconds)

I wish I knew how to write it in proper musical notation/tempo etc. The song would fit in alongside Aaron Copland's Hoedown From Rodeo or Rossini's William Tell Overture.

I heard this song in a restaurant last night that I know I've heard a bunch of times before, the main lyric is something like "Here we go baby down to the west side" (or maybe its east side). I'm not sure how to describe the genre, kind of electronic sounding and very vocal centric with heavy effects on the vocals.
