Oh my http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/mcy/1921406423.html Cheapest 08 CBR1000 i've seen, seems kind of odd with an engine replacement but if he's got proof that it'd been done i'd totally buy this if I thought I could handle a literbike right now.

I'd want to be contacting the shop that did the swap to find out why it had to be done.

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/mcy/1926324064.html I'm actually really temped to pick this up, the brake lever/shifter are maybe 70$ total, I could probably ride this for a little while and sell it for 2500 or more, might take a look at it tommorow.

The 2008 CBR's had a big problem with burning oil that led to lots of warranty work. Many units had piston and top end jobs very early in their lives, and Honda eventually started swapping engines out. I'd put money that this is the real reason his engine was exchanged. My coworker bought one to replace his '93 CBR900RR at an incredibly cheap price knowing about the issue. A couple thousand miles later it's starting to show evidence of oil on the exhaust. Do your research, the CBR boards are full of info on this.

It might look weird with the front fairing stripped off unless you replace the gauges and get a new headlamp. I don't know a ton about UJMs but there's an '82 GS750 for sale right now too that's a lot more standard looking. http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/mcy/1948939493.html Maybe someone else can comment on it.

Wrecked but running ZRX1100 for $900 in central AL: http://bham.craigslist.org/mcy/1950212297.html http://bham.craigslist.org/mcy/1950205379.html Seller double posted but it's the same bike. One ad shows the second side and explains it slid a ways on it's side. Doesn't look too bad really. Based on the pics it looks like it'll need a tank, tailsection, slip-on and most likely new forks. Nothing you couldn't source from ebay or the ZRXOA.org forums for a few hundred bucks I'd like to think. I'd buy this one myself if I had a place to keep it.

It's obscene how much cheaper bikes are outside of southern California, or California in general. It's rare to see a sub $1,500 bike that's safely ridable around here. edit: http://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/mcy/1962200317.html Hmmm... what exactly is a "blow back" problem anyways? edit2: I take it back, it's really just San Diego. LA has tons of cheap(er) bikes. Radbot fucked around with this message at 21:47 on Sep 19, 2010 |

I had to put some maintenance into my last three bikes, but all of them have been pretty cheap from the SF craigslist. I got an '82 KZ1100 for $700, it had a hole in the exhaust but everything else was great on it, an '02 SV 650 with 20k with a good frame, but beat up from being dropped for $1300 and currently an '07 R1 with 5k for $2500. Blown head gasket, but that wasn't too tough to replace.
