You can also perform the same steps this tool does for you by hand if need be. It's also a handy tool for when your lovely piece of poo poo software all of the sudden decides that your system isn't HDCP compliant and refuses to play The Evil Dead disc you have been waiting to see. To get some discussion that's not of new blurays or sales going on up in here, what are some impressive animation films on Bluray? 2D ones especially? My collection is lacking some crisp cel animation stuff. The most obvious stuff is disney, but is there anythin that could have been overlooked, like The Secret of Kells?

Evangelion 1.11, Paprika, Tekkonkinkreet, and Akira are all swank in high-def. If anime's not really your thing, I would recommend Paprika over the other two in terms of most coherent and least adolescent story (it's like an animated Inception in terms of concept), but even so, all three movies contain lots of surreal, colorful animation that bursts off the screen. Can anyone comment on movies that have seen the most improvement with a high-def transfer? As far as I've seen, blu-ray upgrades of older movies fall into one of three categories: 1) "At least the image is cleaner." (Beetlejuice, Secretary, Heathers) 2) "WOW it's like a whole new movie!" (Akira, Evil Dead) 3) "Some film technician is laughing his rear end off right now." (Predator)

Ponyo was pretty amazing looking and a good movie to boot. I'm hoping that The Triplets Of Belleville will make the jump over to Blu-Ray. The HD-DVD (from France) I use to own was amazing looking.

While we're talking about titles, what can you recommend for someone that just recently hopped onto the Blu Ray wagon? I've got a few titles with my player but i'd be interested in seeing what you think are some must own titles for the format. (So far I've got 2001, Up, Toy Story, 300, Sweeney Todd, Bruno, Blade Runner and Mamma Mia)

A few f-bombs can't save it from the lovely plot full of every Hollywood computer cliche and horrible villain. It can also get rather distracting when 90% of the swearing happens when there are no lips visible.

There should be a rule agains't forcing you to watch trailers. Just got a Blu Ray and I can't skip the trailers at all, can't even fast forwards through them. Pain in the rear end.

I sometimes like trailers at the start because it kind makes it like a cinema experience. For the times I don't give a gently caress I have AnyDVD HD which allows me to skip that poo poo. *HTPC User here*

It looks like Mulholland Drive is getting a region B release in the coming weeks but I know nothing about a U.S release so I'm guessing there isn't one? I think I'm going to make an amazon uk order to get that and the Elephant Man, unless anyone knows any better.

Mullholland Dr. is coming in the US but I would say it's pretty safe to order The Elephant Man. Paramount doesn't seem to be doing anything with it.
