Anybody know what's going on with It Dies Today? Once Trustkill went under they seem to have dropped off.

As much as I love j-woo being from my hometown, he did not do a great job with them first time around. Hopefully, if they're still around, they're working to make it better. Lots of potential there, it'd be nice if they could live up to it.

that Elitist song is okay. I hate the breakdowns though.

I managed to catch Despised Icon a few days ago on their final tour. Sucks that these guys are done, they killed it even with a lovely sound dude and limited stage space. Probably the only band who's breakdowns I'll never get tired of.

Wikipedia says there played over in berlin in august, so im guessing there still together. Lividity was pretty mediocre; there were maybe 2-3 songs that were pretty good. Rest was filler. Never heard any of there other albums; how does it fair to lividity?

I think it's pretty common advice to start with the Forever Scorned EP (not the re-release, this is important) and work your way forward. They put out some good stuff with Nick.

I used to live IDT. Their 3 track demo, original Forever Scorned (gently caress the remaster, ugh), and Caitiff Choir (again, original, not re-master) all own and are some of my favorite metalcore ever. "Sirens" was horrific emo garbage. "Lividity" was at least heavy again and I enjoyed it for the most part. They're at least moving in the right direction again. gently caress Sirens though, seriously

On a related note, I was looking through some hella old photos of mine and I came across some snaps I took at Download 2006 of It Dies Today, made me listen to the Catiff Choir again, rockin album, haven't listened to anything since that though and judging from the comments in this thread I guess I wont waste my time.

My friend's band Arbiter has released their album, Colossus, finally. It's pretty much straight deathcore, so I figure some of you guys will enjoy it. Their sound has been compared to Oceano and Whitechapel, but I'm not sure if that's totally accurate. Regardless, check them out: http://arbiter.bandcamp.com/album/colossus Personally, I find it pretty generic (maybe like a bland Acacia Strain), but then again I'm cynical toward the whole deathcore scene lately. I'd love to hear what you guys think of it. For unrelated content, I enjoyed the poo poo out of the new Ion Dissonance, which I didn't expect to. Alternately, I went to a Tony Danza/Oceano/Arsonists/etc. show expecting to hate Danza and enjoy Arsonists (which is my basic attitude toward the two bands, though Arsonists aren't really grade A in any sense), but Danza killed it and Arsonists were just loving terrible, so I'm starting to think I'm backward in terms of deathcore and metal in general. Seriously, I don't know if that's the consensus or not, but Arsonists were about the worst band I've seen live.

This is a guilty pleasure, but anybody who's into modern toughguy stuff like Acacia Strain, Bury Your Dead, etc. might like Confession. It's big dumb stupid metalcore but they keep up a melodic undercurrent through most of the album, similar to For the Fallen Dreams. (This is even more embarassing because they recently released a cover of Break Stuff by Limp Bizkit. With Fred Durst on backing vocals.) On a slightly less embarrassing note, anybody who hasn't checked out Psalms of Sheol by Disembodied should do so immediately. It's a collection of remastered material from some EPs and stuff and the guitar tone is just incredibly thick and heavy. It's almost weird to hear 90s-style metalcore sound so good.

Wow, that Confession band is really badass. Yeah they sound exactly like FTFD but they're like 100% better. I even like the "Break Stuff" cover (though that song has always been a guilty pleasure for me). Thanks for sharing it!!

the only inward scream that is ever good is the RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH introducing Coheed's The Crowing (also in 21:13 and something on YotBR I think) gently caress every other inward scream, especially any bands who primarily use them.

Listening to the new Bring Me The Horizon album at the moment. It's really tight, heavy in parts, other bits have synth that works really well. For all the poo poo that this band has copped (a lot of it deservingly), musically this album and Suicide Season were really good.

yeah, I've found a handful of tracks enjoyable on their past CDs, but this one is surprisingly solid all the way through. I knew they had it in them, I just didn't know they'd do it.

The guest vocalists really add to it too. The guy from You Me At Six fits really well on the song, and Lights works perfectly in the two songs she features on. She is also incredibly hot.
