Need help here: Sometime last year I rented a movie from my local video store that has way more than the Blockbuster type selection. It may have been a foreign movie or some kind of indie movie, I was renting a lot of them at the time.

It's a film about someone getting revenge on one of those infomercial scam guys. This guy has 3 or 4 different scam products that he markets on infomercials, one's a fat-loss cream, I think there was some sort of Ultra-Noni-like juice, and a couple others. There are scenes in the movie of random people watching the infomercial at home, one lady is next to her mom in a hospital bed and orders whatever it is he's selling to help cure her mom. Of course, non of these scam products work as advertised and people don't see results, resulting in one person's death. This person's brother decides to get revenge on this infomercial scam guy and basically ruins his life.

Can't Google the title of this for the life of me. Help, goons?

two movies.

(1) it was made in the 70s or late 60s. i saw it on TV a few halloweens back, so i guess it was supposed to be some sort of suspense/horror movie but it wasn't particularly scary. there was a very pretty young woman with long blonde hair and pale eyes, and her mother -- or maybe the girl, or the grandmother, or someone -- had been kidnapped, or locked up, or something, or maybe no one was locked up or kidnapped at all, i don't really remember. there was no father as far as i can remember.

anyway, i think there was a scene where the girl was talking to the mother, or the grandmother, and the grandmother was senile, and the mother would prattle on histrionically about something, maybe being kidnapped, or having been kidnapped in the past, or something else entirely. there were also two henchman like guys, and one had dark hair and was neanderthal like, and i think he was dating the girl, but he might not have actually been dating her; maybe she was pretending to love him. in any case, one scene i know for certain is that they (the blonde girl and the dark-haired neanderthal like person) were walking through the woods, or some kind of field, and there were trees and things. i think it was sunny. there was some kind of purpose or plot to this or something.

i really don't remember anything about the movie very well.

(2) i think it was an 80s or early 90s movie. it was a horror movie. i saw it maybe two decades ago, when i was very young. i only remember one scene. there was a girl (or maybe girl-like boy) with dark hair and very pale, sallow skin, and she had her tongue cut out, and when she spoke it sounded like someone who had had their tongue cut out. i think she was trying to tell the person who found her something, but wasn't able to.

I hope someone can help me because it's been driving me crazy. It's a movie I saw on DVD almost 2 years ago. I think it might've been released in the late 90s or early 2000s, but I can't remember the name for the life of me.

It was a sci-fi movie set in the near future. The main plot was about this guy who dealt in recordings of peoples' experiences. There was a way for someone to record themselves robbing a bank, for example, that would include all the emotions and excitement of doing so. A scene at the very beginning shows the main character screening some of these recordings so that he can copy and distribute them. One of the recordings is of a burglar, but he falls off of a building and the main character gets really angry at whoever gave him that recording, saying that he didn't want any that ended in death.

I don't remember much of the middle of the movie, but I do remember that the movie lasts longer than you think it would. There seems to be an ending, but it keeps going on. It ends on New Years or something like that in a big city. The protagonist is on the top floor of a building with the female interest and what you thought was a friendly police officer colleague turns out to be a traitor. The very last scene, I think, is these other two corrupt police officers getting beat up by the crowd in the streets.

The actor was actually pretty famous, as well as the traitorous detective friend. My initial reaction was to say that Willem Dafoe was the protagonist and that the traitor detective was someone like Tom Sizemore or Luis Guzman - an actor that's never really a lead but is in a lot of stuff and usually plays someone pretty scummy. I checked their filmographies on IMDB and I think I'm wrong on all counts, but hopefully the description helps.

Thanks for any help.

It's a somewhat new movie, I don't think it's been released yet but I am not sure. It's a teenage slasher type movie. It involves this machine that lets you die/walk around as a spirit. From the trailer I get the idea that some kid whos paralyzed gets the ability to walk again and decides to kill everyone off so he can keep using the machine.

The machine is sort of like a steampunk coffin. Looks cool, and has moving parts and gears.

Supposed to be some sort of "hidden invention" that some guy in the 20s used for seances and whatnot.

Cannot find the movie trailer anywhere, and if it's been released I either want to find a copy or head to the theater to see it.

that seems like it might have been it. i looked it up and apparently it meets the criteria of: (1) pale and sallow young person, who is (2) tongueless and (3) helpful but unable to communicate. for some reason i feel convinced that it was a black-haired girl who was the victim, but maybe i am mixing up two different movies.

okay, this has been bothering me for an eternity. So, this movie I watched probably five years ago on UPN on a lazy Saturday. I never caught the name, but I saw basically the entirety of it. It stars John Travolta as a minor mobster, I think, with a young daughter, somewhere between the age of 6-12. She rescues a dog from a dogfighting club, and somehow that gets them in trouble with the mob. They travel across the country from New York to L.A. to escape the wrath of the mobsters. I feel like I'm missing most of the plot here, but that's all I remember.

This was a 1980's (possibly early 90's) horror movie. The main protagonist (a cop) was played by a fairly well-known actor, though I can't for the life of me remember who. I thought it was either Kiefer Sutherland or Rutger Hauer, but I can't find any movie that fits the description on either of their filmographies.

The plot involved people turning up dead with an astrological sign carved into their chests. It later turns out to be some sort of alien creature, though I seem to recall that it's implied in some degree that it's actually the Devil. The plot (cops chasing serial killer who turns out to be supernatural in an urban setting) reminded me a bit of Predator 2. I'm fairly sure the final showdown took place in an abandoned subway car.

It has a fairly innocuous one-word title.

I'm looking for a movie that I believe came out in the early 2000's. The start is where some girl dies in a tub and then another girl moves in to replace the other girl is an undercover cop. So its a house full of girls and hidden cameras, it isn't a porno either. The movie had two names but I can't remember for the life of me what either of them were.

I think it was made in the 90's, it was a romantic comedy about a high school boy and his next door neighbor, who he's grown up with and is in love with, but to her they're just best friends. Lots of hyjinks occur, but one scene I do remember is when you think the girl is about to hook up with the jock antagonist, she instead ties him to the bed and leaves him there.

Oct 28, 2007

Super glad I found this thread...

Anyway, I watched this movie on TV a number of years ago (I'm 26 now, I must have been maybe 8 or 9 at the time). I remember it because it gave me nightmares for awhile and once my parents found out they quit letting me stay up past nine o'clock or watch any scary or R-rated movies with them. It was a horror movie, I think about ghosts or poltergeists. I remember a few things which I will describe:

-A man or woman sitting at a desk in their house, and a standing lamp moving by itself closer and closer to them.

-A black cat that lived there.

-Their house was on a beach.

-There was a scene in which one of the children of the family turned on a faucet in the bathroom and black liquid came out of it.

-This same black liquid coming through/out of pipes in the basement

-A thick green lamp post with a globe on top, that lit up and talked to a female character in the movie, I think saying things like, "But I love you, (name)." As if it were possessed or something.

This is all I can remember, but I do remember thinking it was freaky as a child in grade school, and upon remembering I ever saw this movie, I got curious as to what it was and I wouldn't mind watching it if someone here knows the name of the movie.

Ah yes, I've found it on iMBD at your mention. It's Amityville IV, which, incidentally, has absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the movies except for the lamp I mentioned, which happens to be possessed and was in the old house. iMDB ratings say it's terrible, but I'm going to try to find it anyway.

The movie I need help with was an older (maybe 1960s) horror anthology. One of the stories in the movie had a man drive through some fog into a village. The man falls in love with a woman and has problems leaving and when he finally leaves with the woman she dies because she can only live in the village. When I was young I remember this terrifying me. Halloween is tomorrow and I would love to watch this movie tonight please help!
