It lets you hide threads based on tags. It's nice in forums like SAS where you can hide threads based on different sports.

Would it be possible to have a few arbitrary group coloring options. Say, I am following a debate or a thread in sports, I would like the option to add certain users to a new color group, and others to another color group. That way all posters on one side of the debate/team will show up a different color then the opposition. It would make it easier to fly through the discussions.

If possible, a way to create as many groups as needed. I'm sure it would get unwieldy if there were too many. Also, the ability to add as many users to each group as desired.

Isn't this built into the forums though? I'm just not sure how you want it integrated with the extension.

Nah, it's doable, but a decent sized enhancement. Post it up on salr.uservoice.com.

For the moment, if you turn on user notes you can use them to assign certain colors to different posters. It is on a one-by-one basis though.

I'm not really sure if this would be considered a bug report or a feature request - but would it be possible to show user notes for ignored users? Considering that their username and regdate still shows up in the same place in threads, it makes sense to me that the note should, too.

Probably a bug. That can be fixed.

No, its built into the Firefox SALR, thats why I am so used to it. You would have one happy user if you put it in!

e: found a post about it since I am not explaining it right.

Cool cool, thanks. I'll load up the Firefox extension and give it a look. It can be done though. Post it on Uservoice if you haven't already. Best way to make sure it won't get forgotten.

I'm using quickreply and have

quote:

enableKeyboardShortcuts false

in settings, but when I want to insert some formatting using open square bracket i close square bracket This is italics open square bracket /i close square bracket, some keyboard shortcut steps into action and I get the Automatic Bulletpoint Maker 3000:
  • Woo!
  • Wee?

What's the big idea? :colbert:

Some further information: I'm Danish and use Danish keyboard layout. If I want to make an open square bracket, I use "Alt Gr", just to the right of the space bar and then the number key 8, in those numbers located along the top, right below the F-keys. The bullet point thingies appear right after I press the 8-key.

Sneaking Mission
Nov 11, 2008

That's a problem with the quick format shortcuts, ctrl+8 turns text into lists. I'm not quite sure how to check for AltGR keys in javascript, so if I can't figure it out I might just put an option to disable them.

In the mean time since you said you're trying to format when you run into this you can use the formatting keys in this post.

Thanks for that, but don't you think the bigger issue is that the extension doesn't honor the fact that I've turned keyboard shortcuts off?

Sneaking Mission
Nov 11, 2008

That's true. I guess I considered the forum navigation keys separate from the formatting, but it does make sense to respect that setting.

Bug I noticed today with the click to collapse stuff on the quotes. It works, but it doubles up, and if collapse it, it will show tl;dr and the stats twice.

In theory it's possible, but it would be one hell of an undertaking, and one that I doubt would scale much. The fact that that is a project in itself kind of unnerves me. I would stick with userstyles to be honest.

Got to agree with this; SALR is meant to add new functionality to the forums, I think CSS modifications something best handled by other specialised extensions, especially given that once any of the SALR developers start dicking around with styles, they'll spend way too much time maintaining them based on people's personal preferences, and less time developing nice new features.

- Update the Youtube inline option to use an iframe (uses HTML5 now if you enabled that)
- Added keyboard shortcut for Open All Bookmarks (b)
- Added option to control quick format hotkeys
- Unread bookmarks hotkey also works on forums, because SneakingMission is ballin'
- Option to replace first/prev/next page links with links to the first three and last three page numbers

Yep. The little down arrow. The Firefox SALR will refresh the page to the latest. I can obviously live without it, but it's nice behavior in threads like TV/Gameday

I think this has been asked before but I wasn't entirely clear on what the feature was...

- I load up a thread
- I click the latest post button and zip to the last post
- If I click it again, it will refresh the page

Is that correct?

kri kri
Jul 18, 2007

Yeah its for if you are already in a thread. If you know the thread has gotten replies, you can click the down arrow, and it will refresh the thread and go to the first unread post.
