I'm always confounded by these m3 conversion guys, mainly because (1) before I knew anything at all about cars(average person), I didn't know what an m3 really was or cared at all. (2) I still know almost jack poo poo about bmws but I know enough about cars in general that I can spot a real m3 from across a parking lot. That car is made to impress people who don't really know what that trim level even means.

For some reason the people that like to put wide-body kits on their cars tend to leave their stock wheels and tires on. That's really not a good look. "Hella unflush"?

I usually look at my local Kijiji but for the first time in months I looked at Craigs. Virtually without exception, every single ad is a scam. http://lethbridge.en.craigslist.ca/cta/ I actually flagged a bunch, but after about 12 I figured why bother. slidebite fucked around with this message at 20:58 on Nov 19, 2010 |

It's better policed for scams because hardly anyone is buying or selling on craigslist there, therefore there aren't enough people flagging scammers, and there are fewer people listing real vehicles which would dilute the scams. Basically, it is popular because it is better and it is better because it is popular. At some point, Kijiji got a lead, for reasons which didn't necessarily have anything at all to do with how good it was (probably Craigslist's reluctance until recently to create areas specific to anything other than major cities), and that lead made it better because it meant there was more available on it. 1986, the year of the lovely heads on the 5.0, so it's obviously worth three times normal value. http://houston.craigslist.org/cto/2065454412.html Click here for the full 1254x958 image. quote:The engine alone is priced around $5000 First, that engine isn't worth poo poo. The 302 isn't exactly an uncommon engine. And second, ALL damage is cosmetic in a sense. edit So anyway, I'm looking for a donor hatchback fox-body to transfer my engine/trans into and gently caress man these people think these cars are made of gold or something. Asking $2000 for a busted up '90 convertible with no engine or transmission and a torn up interior is a bit absurd. edit edit Holy crap, if you love SVO's you won't want to see this. (unless you need a new interior) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1986...3#ht_590wt_1101 quote:WELCOME! OFFERED TODAY IS MY 1986 FORD MUSTANG SVO. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND HAVE THE PINK SLIP. I DROVE THIS CAR OFF THE SHOWROOM FLOOR AT WALKER BUERGE FORD IN NOVEMBER 1985. I DROVE IT FOR MANY YEARS AND IT HAS SAT OUTSIDE FOR 6 YEARS NOT RUNNING. THE LAST I DROVE IT WAS 2 YEARS AGO AND NOW IT NEEDS A NEW FUEL PUMP. IT'S ALSO SAT UNDER A PINE TREE AND HAS SAP ON THE PAINT. THE BODY IS IN OTHERWISE GOOD CONDITION EXCEPT FOR SOME RUSTING IN THE PAINT ON THE BACK HATCH AND THERE IS A HOLE IN THE REAR SPOILER. NOT GREAT TO LOOK AT, BUT COULD BE REPAINTED. NO DENTS. THE ENGINE HAS 254757 MILES ON IT AND THE ENGINE WAS REBUILT, SHORTBLOCKED AT 150000 MILES. THE INTERIOR IS DECNT WITH THE VACARRO TYPE SEATS REUPHOLSTERED YEARS AGO AND THERE ARE A FEW CRACKS IN THE SEATS. MY DOG HAD TEARED THE LEATHER OFF THE STEERING WHEEL YEARS AGO AND I PUT A COVER ON IT. I REPLACED THE SHIFTER WITH AN ORIGINAL REPLACEMENT. THE RADIO WAS REPLACED AND DOESN'T WORK. THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS DISCONNECTED AND DOES NOT WORK ALTHOUGH THE FAN AND THE HEATER WORKED LAST I DROVE IT. THERE'S RUST ON SOME OF THE ENGINE PARTS ON THE SURFACE AS THE PICTURES SHOW. THE TIRES WERE FAIRLY NEW AND DON'T HAVE MANY MILES ON THEM ALTHOUGH THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING FOR A WHILE. NOT REGISTERED SINCE 2004. THIS CAR COULD BE USED FOR PARTS OR WITH A LITTLE TLC, COULD BE BROUGHT BACK TO CONDITION. IT WAS A FAST CAR AND HAD REALLY FLAT HANDELING. A REAL BLAST TO DRIVE. THE BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR TRANSPORTING. WHEN THE PAYMENT HAS CLEARED, I WILL MAIL THE TITLE VIA FEDEX AND YOU CAN PICK UP THE CAR. And yes, they do cost a bit more but are WAY better than the BF 323 with a FWD B6T (alphabet soup?).
