If you havin' hull problems I feel bad for you son/
I got 99 problems, but a breach ain't one/
I re-upped NNF too, and have also worked my way through the backlog. I'm curious, does anyone else have favorite season(s)? Season 4 sticks out to me as the season where Jimmy was at his best although I'll admit to being a little biased because that was the season when I started listening.

The best episodes were the ones where Andrew was on mic, in my opinion. Scott Aukerman, Jon Hamm, Janet Varney, Graham Elwood, Pat Francis always make for a great show. I also really like when Jimmy's wife, Danielle Koenig is on the show; but she isn't on the show as much now, compared to how often she used to appear in the earlier seasons.

I was never big into Andrew on the mic, honestly. I liked his random "Peh!" laughter outburst every now and then in the background, though. Miss it big time. But Elliot's very bizarre laugh is nice.

Season 4 was probably the best. All the old favorites and some really good one-off guests, too. It really is the best podcast, through and through, for years now. CDR has made me laugh harder than anyone but each episode doesn't have the revisit power that NNF has.

Ah, phooey!
I honestly thought seasons 6 and 7 were fantastic. I do miss Andrew and to say it's a better format now is wrong. It is just funny in a different way. I thought Andrew on mic was fine, but his humor didn't mix with mine for the most part. It doesn't mean that his stories weren't interesting though.

Dammit, I always get bitter when a new episode goes up while I'm at work and can't get it on my ipod :( In better news though they've been putting out episodes on about a weekly basis the past couple months, which is pretty great.

I've only been listening about a year (and I guess they've only been recording about a year) but I love this time of year, they've got so many great guests. Now with a Paul F. Tompkins on that list it'd be almost perfect.

The new CDR is pretty good, but I kind of went CRAZY when they all started jamming. No Would you Rather, though :(

Also, the cobbler that Tig mentiones? I found it on Google Maps.

Edit: Nevermind! I thought it was over, but they do play Would You Rather! My bad!!!

Tig Notaro continues to do her focus stealing nonsense. I wish she would stick to her storytelling and not trying to be funny off the cuff since that consists entirely of trying to derail other peoples stories or her own inside jokes with herself.

That is her whole loving shtick man. Have you never heard Tig's comedy before? Did you not hear Kevin Nealon talking about how dry her humor is? I am pumped for Cyber Thug Radio being a full show now. I love Jerry Minor.

Man, I don't know, different strokes I guess, but I love Tig pretty much in every podcast she shows up in.

Todd Barry, on the other hand, when he made his way through the majority of my regular podcasts last week, sucks the funny out of everything. He made CDR AND Doug Loves Movies practically unlistenable.

I know thats her schtick and mine is not enjoying it. Not only is she dry, which is fine, but she is an active roadblocking, comedy stopper. She steps on other peoples jokes, breaks reality and so on and so on.

Todd Barry is dry but he plays along. I've seen him live plenty of times and the guy is pretty god drat funny. He, David Cross and John Benjamin used to do a live show here in NYC called Tinkle and it was great. They were all great. Anyway... She just drives me nuts. Even her "Good One" robot is basically like making GBS threads on every joke people tell on that show...

She tells a good story but she should leave it at that.

I feel like that's a lot of the guests, though--some of them (Pardo, Tompkins, Patton Oswalt) are either giant nerds or get very competitive and get really into it, most are pretty normal and just kind of play along as best they can, and the other section (Tig Notaro, Nick Swardson, TJ Miller, and even though he hasn't been on yet I can kind of see Michael Ian Black being like this) seem to be having more fun derailing the show and bringing out Doug's (barely) concealed A-type tendencies.

Sometimes that can be funny (I liked the Star Wars: Quest for the Black Pearl gag, if only because that sounded like one of the made-for-TV Ewok movies), but it can also backfire horribly (see TJ Miller).

Haha but the TJ Miller episode is AMAZING. I love Doug, I love the Len Maltin game, but I'd much rather hear TJ tell stories about filming Yogi Bear as Doug gets more and more pissed off.

Normally I'd be completely with you on this, and I think she ruined Doug Loves Movies the times she's been on, but she was winning me over with today's CDR. Scott handles her comedic style very well, and I think her derailments work much better in the weirder environment of CDR than in a more loose and conversational show like Doug's is.

I don't know much about Tig but when she was doing her impression of the "lady married for twenty years" was the spitting image of my aunt and I had to laugh out loud. And I thought Good One Robot was funny. Does anybody know when the first Cyberthug/Archer podcast will drop? Can't wait to hear Nick Swardson on that one.

edit: When Scott asked if anyone had any questions and she said "How are cars made?" was genius.
