Finally got Charade from B&N. First time I've seen a Universal film look this good. It would have been horrible to see Audrey Hepburn's face noise reduced into oblivion.

FYI, Amazon has the 1-disc The Wizard of Oz for :10bux:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00388PK1A/ref=nosim?tag=dvdbeaver-20&link_code=as3&creativeASIN=B00388PK1A&creative=373489&camp=211189

It loses all the extras except for the commentary and music-only track, but a good deal if you don't care.

Cuz life sucks, kids. Get it while you can.

The three-disc edition of Oz is only $19.99 right now also. It has the long rear end documentary on the rise and fall of MGM. It is a very interesting look at the studio system and some of the greatest stars in Hollywood.

Target will have the Inception combo pack for $17.99 on release week ($24.99 at Amazon and Best Buy). Best Buy's exclusive version is $29.99 and contains "Inception: The Shooting Script" (described as "the director's initial handwritten notes of the Inception plot"). Hardly sounds worth an extra $12, but there you have it.

In January, keep an eye on the Blu-Ray Deal thread in Coupons & Deals. If you have any old DVDs you don't want, trade them in at places like MovieStop - just make sure the ones you trade in give you some decent credit. Otherwise, you're better off selling them yourself, or keeping.

Stores (both online and brick & mortar) want to eliminate their extra Christmas stock, so deals that are just as good as the ones for Christmas show up all over the place.

Also, in general: I got the Fantasia set today. And, uh, in a couple of words: holy gently caress.
