Also, Adam Carolla back on the Nerdist this week. First repeat guest? Anyway, it was loving awkward as hell last time when Carolla ranted about Sid and Marty Krofft for thirteen hours, wonder how it'll go this time

Not sure if anyone's mentioned the now extinct Russell Brand Podcast in this thread. It's cuts of his old live Saturday show on Radio 2. It's only available now in archive form after the newspapers in the UK shat their trousers about it, but I still listen to old shows sometimes because him and Matt Morgan makes me laugh so much. It's not to everyone's taste, and I know a lot of goons don't like Russell Brand but here are a couple of audio clips off of youtube if anyone wants a little sample to see if they like it: Racism LuLu! After last week and just all of the inane crap they were talking with Matt Smith (who is either kind of not-so-bright or really really nice to put up with all that stupid stuff) I just can't listen to Hardwick anymore.

I feel bad about this because I think Chris Hardwick is a good guy and a decent enough comic amongst his peers but I just get turned off every time he and Jonah Ray start 'spergin over nerdy stuff. His interview with Bill Burr was especially telling. Not sure if he's changed his setup, but another thing that bothered me about the Nerdist podcast was the sound quality. Before I unsubscribed I think he was using the built-in mics of a commercial field recorder and while not completely terrible, it was incredibly difficult to listen to considering I live in a city.

It is a bit surprising how the podcast that's by the biggest "tech geek" out there has the worst sound quality, too. Jesus Christ it's bad. And it really is a "celebrity blowfest;" it's just Hardwick sucking up to some nerd icon, or talking to fellow stand-ups about the business, which I generally don't mind, but his interview style is pretty terrible. It just doesn't seem to fit his "niche" at all. You'd expect some high-quality geeky thing with bits and fun segments and poo poo. But it sounds like the worst "three white guys talking" podcasts around.

Can't stand Corolla. But I did like the chat with Matt Smith.

I loved it because the Kroffts' stuff is universally and thoroughly without merit, and Hannah/Barbera didn't do very many good cartoons outside of Tom & Jerry (my favorite cartoon, and the H/B era was the best) and a few of their other earlier ventures. We need to stop pretending these guys were some amazing creative geniuses. Still seems a goofy thing to get into a frothing rage over. That's why I like the guy's show, though. Carolla can be a bit much sometimes, and I usually only half listen to his podcast, but when he's good and angry about something stupid, I get a huge kick out of him.

I finally started listening to The Podcast Eating Contest, and it was so-so, until episode 3, "Canada", when they all go into this bit of requoting Jurassic Park, but making it sound more Canadian, and I lost it at work. Then my bluetoof headphones died. So the rest will have to wait.

Listened to Cyber Thug Radio, fell in love with it. Very shaky, very off the cuff, but has plenty of potential I think. 'White dude' on the surface seemed cliche and yet I giggled like a little school girl because it exemplifies my hatred for that brand of whiteness. My favorite part though was cyber thug making GBS threads all over Drake: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJed3zZPACw
