That is awful to watch but if anything it makes me feel better about my chances when I'm out. I nearly /always/ have more distance between myself and a 4 wheeler on the highway than that rider ever did in the video. Christ.

My favorite part about that video is not that they cut away from any footage of turning, but that they never even got it above about 1mph. At least the ridiculous custom choppers places like that usually build can ride decently in a straight line. If you can't even make something that's rideable, then why bother putting an engine in it at all? It's just a sculpture with a gas generator inside it. The spokeless wheels look kinda cool though.

I was wondering about that. Like, are they being cautious because it's an expensive project and they dont' want a drop? Is it because the controls are in such a weird position that it's just next to impossible to drive it with any confidence until you got used to it? Or does it literally not turn for poo poo?

A friend of mine does a lot of scooter races. I've not accompanied him yet but when he tells about it, it sounds like a hell of a lot of fun and it does take some skills. And the guys don't seem to take the sport too seriously, so that's a plus as well.
