BFI titles for Jan/Feb. First two are region free, second two are region B. Bonus image of Ryan Reynolds looking especially constipated: A Bay of Blood (UK) reviewed The Other Guys reviewed. Bonus features on this one sound awesome.

The most impressive part is (thank you IMDb) she was in The Ruins (a mediocre horror flick) and a bunch of poo poo. It would make more sense to have an Udo Kier section if you're going to dedicate a library shelf to an actor with a batting average of .025.

We have a pretty good DVD/Blu-ray classification in our home: Her Movies (arranged by alphabet) His Movies (arranged by genre) When there is any overlap between Her Movies and His Movies, they go into Her Movies. A sperglord would flip the gently caress out if they saw it.

I do alpha, but I've got around 150 DVDs/blu-rays, so organizing them by genre would probably look kind of dumb.

I've seen people with hundreds of discs arrange them by the color of the spine. It actually looks kind of neat for the four seconds it takes you to realize how pathologically loving weird it is. edit: On the off chance that anyone has the slipboxes for the Austin Powers Collection and/or the PotC trilogy, I'd be willing to buy them from you or trade you for them. doctor thodt fucked around with this message at 20:43 on Dec 3, 2010 |

That makes me want to try something wacky like put them in order of the first assistant director's last name. I bet no one's tried that before.

The problem with sorting by genre is that you inevitably end up with a bunch of movies that don't really fit any genre, and movies that would fit in at least three categories. Although if you really have some spare time I'd say you should try sorting movies from good to bad

I've got my library organized in 4 different categories but I am not really happy with it. Suggestions welcome. - all blu-rays in alphabetical order (regardless of genres, directors, Criterion, etc.) - my favorite/important directors DVDs (including the Criterion (DVD only) that are applicable), ordered by continents (America, Europe, Asia, etc.) - all the Criterion DVDs that are not in the above category, in alphabetical order - the rest, in alphabetical order (movies that I like but are not Criterion and not made by a director I care about)

tonelok posted:His Movies (arranged by genre) How do you manage this? Do you separate foreign into their own micro categories, or are the included in the categories at large... or perhaps you consider all of foreign films to be a singular genre. What happens when you have something like Army of Darkness? Is it horror or comedy? How would you categorize something like Armageddon or Independence Day... action or sci-fi? I need these answers!

I keep my DVDs and Blu-rays separate, with each kind in alphabetical order. But box sets - or anything other than standard cases, actually - ruin it for me. I don't like having cases of different sizes and heights mixed together, so everything other than standard cases go on different shelves. But even box sets, digibooks, etc. vary in size and height, so then I'm stuck arranging by size as best as I can. And that can't always be alphabetical. Drives me insane. I'm glad I'm not the only one with these serious, serious problems. Sith Happens fucked around with this message at 21:44 on Dec 3, 2010 |

Quasi-alphabetical for me, with the "quasi-" meaning James Bond, Jackie Chan, Jason Bourne, and kung fu. Kind of screwy, but it makes for a pretty handy "Kick-rear end Action" section among all the other "Her Movies (That Really Should Have Been Rentals)".

The correct answer is "007" with the movies ordered by release date. Except for the Roger Moore movies and Die Another Day. They can optionally be filed in The Crypt de Cinema Terrible next to the Resident Evil movies, Highlander 2, House of the Dead, Troll 2, and Shark Attack 3.

I have my DVD/Blu-Ray movies together in alphabetical order, followed by box sets of movies (ie the Star Wars Trilogy, Harry Potter series)in alphabetical order. Then, for reasons I can never truly justify, all of my TV seasons are classified by what network they appeared on (in alphabetical order).
