Yeah I can see that. I actually saw Quantum of Solace first so that might make a difference to my perception somehow. When I saw Quantum of Solace I liked how Bond was less suave and more out of step, like a guy who murders people for a living might actually behave more so than the older Bonds. So it introduced me to this new Bond, I've never written "Bond" so much. Bond. Casino Royale just seemed kind of boring in comparison. Also I think I had problems with how things unfolded towards the end. I've only seen it once so maybe I should see it again.

I need these answers! :spergin:
Really plain and I'll probably switch to alphabetical, I've just been lazy:

Action/Adventure/Western
Comedy
Drama
Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Horror (AoD, Armageddon, Independence Day)

Sorry guys, I don't put much thought into it - I've really slimmed down my DVD collection as we moved to Blu-ray, and we weren't buying stuff that was easily available through Netflix.

Anybody familiar with the Versus Blu-Ray and whether or not it's the same version of the film from the "Ultimate Edition" where they film like 10 more minutes and retooled about 75% of the entire film?

I don't really care for the extras as I've seen them a billion times, but I prefer the newer cut above the other ones.

Granted the colors are definitely better but in most of the pictures the Criterion looks more detailed, especially in the shots with people in the distance. In the new ones a lot of the faces of faraway people are a blurry mess compared to the old version.

Which images are you looking at? I'm trying to find what you mean, but the only image I can find with people in the distance whose faces you could actually make out on the Criterion are these

http://blubrewdotcom.files.wordpress.com/2010/12/42.jpg
http://blubrewdotcom.files.wordpress.com/2010/12/192.jpg

because the color saturation is higher on the new transfer. I still think the first one looks better, because of the aspect ratio, regardless.

More gore scenes more fight scenes. The main thing I can think of is the final sword fight is extended. In the middle of the fight they stick their swords in the ground and start fighting hand to hand.
