Graviton v2 posted:Anyone know if UK on demand ratings count towards the official ratings these days? The regular BARB ratings that are published in newspapers and often quoted by the media are just the TV ratings and are published the morning after a show is broadcast (aka overnights). Broadcasters also receive a consolidated report 8 days after transmission that includes 7 days worth of on demand viewing figures. Over time hopefully these consolidated figures will become more important as popular shows can rack up tens and even hundreds of thousands of extra views over the course of a week. Anyway, yeah don't worry your viewing is measured. reality_groove fucked around with this message at 18:20 on Dec 20, 2010 |

Daniel Radcliffe always looks really twitchy and nervous whenever I see him make a public appearance (barring stage work, I'm assuming), it's kind of distracting. Although he does seem like an intelligent, decent enough lad so more power to him, I suppose.

I think he's really sweet, I saw an interview with him there the host asked how he felt about all the female attention and he said 'Oh gosh, it's really rather marvellous' and giggled a bit. The actor that played Ron whose name escapes me at the moment is the same - just Hermoine that seems to be a cow.

I know you all pretty much hate Tramadol, but a bit of goon support in terms of viewing figures wouldn't go amiss for Episode 5 (the 28th) - I filmed/animated one of the sketches for it. I heard the viewing figures dropped off quite sharp for Ep2 so I'm not sure where it will be by the "christmas" episode. The series has been hit and miss for me - I liked the stuntman sketch quite a bit, but stuff like the Knight Rider one did seem to go on for ages. I think the funniest by far has been the George Micheal's Highway Code. But then I find wanking funny.

The weird sudden edits in the Global edition makes it the worst one to watch. They also focus on the correspondant reports which are the worst bit, and have less of John Stewart's monologues, which are the best.

slotbadger posted:I *promise* the ending [of Ashes to Ashes] wraps things up nicely. Trin Tragula posted:I strongly advise that you give it more of a chance. Thanks, guys. Don't worry, I am. I toughed it out through new Doctor Who series 2 (and was glad I did), I can make it through this one. It actually feels kind of like Who s2—where the show suddenly drops precipitously in quality following an amazing previous series, while you're also adjusting to the loss of a favorite lead actor/character. But you just have to take it like medicine until you get to get to the good stuff. Also, PriorMarcus, love the avatar. So far Ashes to Ashes s1 is not as positively hard to watch as Who s2 was, it's just... not good. It seems like it's mostly just trying to just retread Life on Mars, only it's totally camp and nothing seems to have any meaning behind it. Also whatever sexual tension they're trying to push between Gene and Alex is implausible, contrived, fake, and most importantly, boring. It's.... oh my god... it's like the cut-rate American knockoff of Life on Mars. I mean if there weren't already a cut-rate American knockoff of Life on Mars, this is what one would be like. It turns the balanced tone of the original broad and campy, superficially apes the trippy stuff by just throwing in some meaningless clown images, and shoehorns in an obligatory sexual tension with the leads. I hope they will change course with that one. I also hope they change the 80's-tastic opening in the next series, because it is fairly funny at first but I imagine the self-parody would get pretty jarring once the show gets more serious.

Taear posted:Glad to see they're cutting the awful poo poo from the channel. Hey, hey, hey. Well, I guess if you don't live in the U.S. then you don't experience the Daily Show for its real primary function, which is therapy. I think of it like a bomb shelter for sane people. Anyway, polished off A2A series 1... Alex had the exact same first-season arc/finale as Sam, only this time I couldn't give a poo poo. And she never felt the need in 8 episodes to ask any more about Sam and his activities in the 1973-world? I should think she would want to know as much as she could about it. And nobody else asks HER about the fact that she's babbling about the same kinds of things that he was?... And every attempt by this show to be sexy or romantic is just... gross... Its idea of a hot hookup for Alex runs from the Guv, to Alex's godfather , to that rich toad-looking guy from episode 1 or 2. Well, looking forward to better developments in series 2. Positive notes... I liked Shaz? And yeah, people here are either not interested in talking about the show, in which case sorry, or they're keeping tight-lipped to protect me from spoilers, in which case thanks... But I guess I just felt the need to rant about it for a bit.

Maybe if Alex weren't so much younger and SO very conventionally attractive, it wouldn't seem so preposterous a match.

Lord knows I've gotten flutters for some utterly unaccountable men. But, of course, if you Googled "Is Sam Tyler sexy?" you'd just get a page with giant text reading "What are you, loving blind?" What's all this drama with Vince Cable and BSkyB about? All of the news stations are calling for his head, and i'm trying to understand why without some kind of lovely news bias (such as the hypocricy of not condemning those undercover reporters posing as constituent yet insinuating condemnation towards Assange).
