They dont even need to do the importing. You can even see the Buick (aka Commodore) in the video now and then, Holden sells a lot of them in the UAE/Middle East

What you're saying is true, but not the way you're claiming. That Saudi-style drift is easier to pull off by hammering the throttle and just swerving their FWD cars. So it takes less skill (I suppose you could call it safer). If they had RWD, they'd have to have skill to maintain that kind of drift at any speed. I honestly don't know which is worse.

Thanks to my three year old son I've been watching lots of Monster Jam videos lately, and ran across this very well done Grave Digger video with multiple POV's. If you aren't impressed by the HP and torque numbers or the amount of air he's able to get with a 10,000 pound machine I don't know what to tell you..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJNZQpSSefc

Yeah, same thing I thought until my son took a liking to it and I started watching it with him. The amount of air these things can get is incredible, and they're pushing HP numbers beyond Top Fuel dragsters. I'm taking my son to a Monster Jam event at the end of January here in Tampa and I think I'm more excited than he is

You get to meet the drivers, see the trucks, and it's pretty cheap. Make sure to have some hardcore ear protection, like the air traffic controller looking ear muffs. The ear protection helps but your internal organs will be jumbled up from the vibrations if you have good close seats. I actually credit the Air force Afterburner truck with some hearing loss in my left ear.

I was surprised how cheap the tickets are ($15 and $25), and all I have to do to get free pit passes is stop by a local Ford dealer. Ear protection is a gimmie, I've got a nice set of Remington earmuffs for my son and I'll just go with ear plugs. Depending on how well the pit experience goes I may just post a thread with pics.

The drivers have always been really friendly in my experience. I have two girls, 3 and 6, and they love Monster Truck events. If the event is in an enclosed stadium the fumes can get to you depending on the ventilation but the bigger arenas don't seem to have this problem as much.

That is amazingly awesome! They welded a set of cylinder mounts onto a stock CBX case. I wonder how they worked out the crank, as it seems they used one crank for all 12 cylinders. This really makes me want to try to make a V-8 using CR500 cranks and cylinders. A 4L with a redline of ~8000 RPM, and something like 600 hp. Sounding like a swam of wasps would only make it better. One day...

Some of the best race car sounds could be heard in the Mulsanne Straight in Le Mans when it still was a straight. Just glorious. Note that some of the cars emit so much RF interference that the camera records just static for a while when they come close enough. (The same clip can be found from Youtube but there's something wrong, it doesn't seem to play right unless you download it and play it with an external video player).
