drat, I wish they had pushed the engine to 1,800 hp, just so they could say: "This car makes 1 hp/lb!"

Also, reading this sentence on Wikipedia:

The car was built around a very light spaceframe chassis (42 kg (93 lb))

To be fair, the chassis weighed more during the race because they routed the fuel through it.

I like to imagine that he has some sort of archival tape collection from a Finnish sports TV show from back in the day. Every day he chooses a new tape to put in the machine, and he just sits back and watches.

How does your mind work if you own a truck, live in loving Colorado and don't have chains or proper winter tires?

I mean, it's bound to get cold and snowy there, right? Every other person here in Sweden have chains stashed in their car somewhere..

Fun fact: lots of places in the states outlaw chains as to keep the road surfaces in better shape. We couldn't use them in CT or MA when I used to live there.

Is it still legal in Co to have metal studded tires? When we lived there dad had them on our Fox Body Capri back in the day along with two bags of sand in the trunk.

As an unfortunate owner of a 3rd gen Ford Taurus SHO (98), I watch this video from time to time to help ease the pain of having a Taurus automatic transmission and an exploding engine. My old V6's SHOs had an amazing wail when the secondaries opened, I miss them. The V8's have a killer exhaust note though. Doesn't change the fact that these things were rated at 235hp, pretty sad these days.

A friend of mine was on the pit team for this car.

The leader blocked him the entire race and then cut down (and got spun out) on the last corner.

The solution? The leader t-bones their car in the pit after the race. :wtf:

My friend once parked his van in a dirt lot kind of by his house when he went to Colorado for 9 months. He came back to discover that condos were now built there and the car was sitting on a grassy patch next to the now paved lot with bright orange stickers all over it. How they put it there? :iiam:

Oh Giraffe you're havin' a laugh!
A few weeks back, Seattle got our every-couple-years snowstorm. The problems with this are:

1) We don't use salt
2) The entire city is essentially hills
3) We have about four snowplows
4) Temperature rises during the day, then freezes at dusk, creating sheet ice everywhere.

The result? Chaos.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhZCyQ3emQg

Bonus 5) Articulated buses they refuse to pull out of service in said icy mess!
