Where can I read up on the rules on right of way and etiquette on a racetrack? The closest I can get is: http://www.formula1.com/inside_f1/rules_and_regulations/sporting_regulations/8683/fia.html quote:20.2 Manoeuvres liable to hinder other drivers, such as more than one change of direction to defend a position, There's no mention of outside or inside or relative speed or anything. This one is from F1, but I'd like to know if there is some general list of rules that everyone in motorsports should just know.

You see NBA basketball players on TV and they just look like some guys playing a really good game of hoops. Then you see one when they're not on a court with other players, and you realize they just TOWER over normal sized people. I mean sure, you know F1 cars are fast as hell, but you never really get that direct comparison, and when you do it catches you off guard.

Maybe he was worried about the rear floating up and losing traction? I guess I probably would have done it too, just in case. I don't understand why those cars just sat there and no one besides the 4x4 guy thought to move them. Maybe they said F it, let insurance take care of it?

Most people see a car as an appliance and aren't willing to risk their lives for it. Other people (we) are car guys, and you saw one of us move his 4x4.

They had plenty of time before it got too dangerous, and it was pretty clear the water was rising quickly. I dunno, unless my car had full coverage and zero deductibles I'd be out there moving it at the first sign of rising water anywhere near it.

Things are backwards over there -- while the man behind the camera was poking fun at anyone, I didn't gather that either he or his companion were too bright, you can hear the other person pondering over whether or not to move the vehicle, well in advance... It is quite a mess with the flooding, I really hope the dams that were constructed after the past flood hold strong, floods are just ugly.

Most likley not of much interest to most, but some kind soul has put up videos of the Mini being made back at the factory Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkTDCOQB-rg Part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3jcIBPmYpY Put together by a few spot welds and blokes with hammers. Was quite the icon for england for along time. But times changed and the Mini couldn't change with it. Eventually the factory closed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_nZARY8JCI And was then demolished: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sneNutNvk0A Its kinda depressing to see something that was a great example of how well your country do things, end up as a pile of rubble. Everything all gone. Well except for a stray broken and unfinished Mini, abandoned in one of the tunnels underneath the mess. On a good note at least, a company has since bought alot of the original tooling and machinery used at longbridge and now uses it to create new bodyshells for people re-shelling their rusted old ones. I hear some of the workers are the same people who used to work in the factory too, as they had the experience of working with the tooling for so long.
