Mike is one of the fastest brains out there... love to follow his tangents. The lady in the background is laughing at a more tolerable volume level now [than in older episodes]... which I appreciate. Still.... I even like the laughter sometimes... and I def. see how that feedback gives Mike what he needs to keep rolling (or remind him where he branched off from on that new tanget)... great stuff. :)

I want to kill the girl laughing in the background. It's too bad because he's funny but maybe she should actually talk instead of just laughing in the background.

Wow I had no idea how similar they were. I was kind of hoping he'd get the raspy voiced girl (someone in this thread or the Loveline one called her a female Dawson), I thought she was great.

Speaking of games on podcasts, today's Carolla show had another episode of Gaywalking, which is an example of a good one. It's easy and fun to follow and play along with. Totally Topical Tivo Trivia is another they do infrequently that's really well put together.

and on the opposite side of the effort spectrum:

Merlin Mann winds up on several of Leo Laporte's Twit podcasts, but if you really want to hear Leo dick around with his iphone for an hour while Merlin says a few nuggets of wisdom go on ahead.

What? Carcast is very consistently only about cars and races and stuff unless this is a new one. Hell, on the episode with Peter North he didn't talk about porn at all, just automotive stuff.

Nice! Hope you enjoy those! He's a real "love him or hate him" kind of guy. I think the first ep I ever heard was him talking about being a DJ in Reno (I won't say any more so as to not spoil it) and I was hooked!

In other news: does anyone else listen to The Mediocre Show or See You Next Tuesday? On the newest SYNT Mike Pilat (of the Mediocre Show) totally slagged UYD and in particular Jah. Even though I love UYD I couldn't help but laugh, because he's kind of right. Mike's pretty annoying sometimes though.

Just to put it out there: Check out See You Next Tuesday and start at the beginning, because Troy's kind of a badass and he's taking the format to a place where not a lot of people are going. Maybe like Paul F. Thompkins in that regard, though Troy is not nearly as seasoned of a performer.

This is exactly what I do, and it's helped me like Adam a bit more lately. Just like with real people there are some shows I don't need to listen/watch every single day, and I can get my fill with a couple shows a week. The only thing about that is I'm not up to date on the latest things like the changing of the news lady type of news.

I've been liking most of the old Joe Rogan podcasts I've been listening to also, I'm trying to listen to all of them even if they are out of date because I generally like him on the UFC shows, etc.

Well thanks for listening and then Goddamn it. I'm probably going to have to move servers or something. It has to be a server traffic related thing. sigh. Good to know you can get it on the Zune marketplace though. I put it there but I don't get info about where the plays come from.

Where are other people hosting their podcasts? I guess I average about 2000 downloads per show on average over the life of a show (say the 1st month its on the front page of the blog). I'm glad people are liking it but at the same time its loving annoying. I'd hate someone to stop listening because of that technical glitch. I'm positive if you delete it and re-download the file it would be the whole thing.

Thanks for the heads up, though.

Yeah, I started in the Kitten Sparks era. I like him a lot better than Mike, but they still do a good show. Lady Tomorrow now has a vocal role on the show which is cool. They're not the funniest, but somehow I just dig them. It's like a restaurant you go to where the food isn't that great, but somehow you really like hanging out there.
