Actually, can you take a photo holding it? I hear it's big, but it's an RF lens, so it can't be as big as my 35mm L

Nice! They just recently raised the price on those too, may be out of reach for me for a while if the panic spreads from RFF to eBay.

Who wants to go with me to Mongolia? Finally found the absolute perfect tour package, and got a nice windfall of money to pay for it.

http://bluewolftravel.com/go-to-eagle-festival-with-eaglehunters-and-altai-explore

Right now I'm going alone (Agust doesn't like these kind of trips) so I'll have to tag along with another group of strangers, but if I can get even one other person interested (long shot I know) we can have a photographer only group.

While this particular tour doesn't appeal to me too much, I like the idea of meeting up with other people here for a photography-travel-tour. It's hard to find people who actually want to travel (mainly who want to spend the money and have time off work), and especially hard to go with people not interested in photography. Hopefully this kind of thing comes up again!

I had fun doing this with a couple of visiting goons in Bangkok when I lived there, although rear end is my canvas was the only Dorkroom regular (I think). I showed him around Tampa a couple months ago when he visited too - we almost got chased by a twelve foot alligator, and I was later offered a job at a Thai restaurant we stopped in. Good times.

I'm really hoping I get a Real Job offer in the next few months, because it would likely give me a month or two to kick around the USA (or somewhere else) before I start.

I'm using a Leica M5. Indeed, it's pretty huge for a RF lens, here it is mounted (with a Nikon 50/1.4 for scale):

The first roll of film shot with this lens is drying right now, so assuming nothing went horribly wrong, I'll have some samples soon.

There were a couple for sale on the RFF classifieds shortly before the price increase - I was just about to pull the trigger on a new one when I saw one of those ads, so I really lucked out. I snapped up a CV 21/4 from the same guy, so I ended up with both lenses for not much more than what the 35 alone was going for new.

lol

I know this is "big" for a RF lens, but that is positively tiny. My 35mm 1.4 could probably fit that lens inside it's air chamber.

I just got confused because I've never ever seen a model contract that signs over copyrights to the model.... If it were that easy, companies wouldn't pay a premium for those rights! What kind "model" is she that it's standard to do that?

The kind of "model" that is part of a "tight-knit photographic community", doncha know?

ie., a couple of local pervs, maybe one of which who runs a studio, and a stable of trainwreck chicks who get naked a lot. These "photographers" don't mind signing over all their protected rights, because hey, tits.
