oh yeah exactly. I wasn't disagreeing. McMadCow is probably one of my favorite photographers in general - not just from the dorkroom. I'm super pissed to see all those people making GBS threads on him in that thread.

Are there any good sites for finding high-res production shots from movies? The only luck I've had is filtering Google image search for large, black and white images.

This is completely stupid, but anyway: I just got my first L lens from Canon (17-40, cheap and stuff) and it came with a really nice lens bag. Leather at the bottom and stuff. Now, personally I love leather stuff, but I could see that people would get offended if they're vegetarian (much like my girlfriend who did not like the bag). Does all L lenses come with a bag with leather?

Paragon8 posted:oh yeah exactly. I wasn't disagreeing. Thanks! And as far as getting poo poo on, that I don't care about all that much. None of the basement-dwelling white knights in there know how much time and effort I put into my work and getting taken seriously for it. So saying that I should be giving away rights and the negatives themselves to models just comes from a place of ignorance. There's no arguing with that. The only thing that really pissed me off about that thread are the people insisting that the subjects of photos have rights to them, which shows up time and again in the news and people pay out millions in penalties for infringement all the time. I've never even had any of my work stolen, but I imagine I'd be doubly pissed if it ever happened.

Man I caught that thread at the start and had a good laugh at the op for even posting it but I never expected it to descend into a photography arguement. I must say it was really enjoyable to read the disparaging comments about McMadCow while knowing his actual ability. Still it is pretty depressing how low people's opinion of the photog is in general...
