I had pics on my old phone. The guy buys and sells Bimotas and whatever the hell else he feels like. For awhile he had three of them sitting there. The bikes look amazing in person, the front suspension is out of this world.

Plated Husqvarna WXE360 2-stroke for $1100 in the Bay Area. Really want to buy it but kickstarting it is a bitch unless you get an autodecompression head from Australia for $600. Not worth it for my needs. But god drat it would be awesome. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/mcy/2088241610.html

No I really don't like 2 strokes. I mean, I wouldn't kick one out of the garage if it showed up, but a 2 stroke dirtbike is not on my list of what I want to buy. I need to ride more just to confirm, but I do not like how they make power, I don't like the sound, and I don't like the smell. An RD/RZ 350-400 would be the only exception. And even then, I'd just tolerate the 2 stroke-ness of it. I started riding after the 4 strokes started in in MotoGP, to me the 2 strokes just sound like lawnmowers. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/mcy/2088710457.html I'd buy the poo poo out of that though, if I had the money now.

It's an Arizona plate, you'll never get that transferred to CA. I might get bored of my KLX300 after I run it in from the recent rebuild and sell it cheap. Nice light bike with low seat height. KTM 450s are calling me...

And also I'll get your A/F tuner back to you before the DRZ goes. Speaking of which, you want to buy a DRZ?

Exquisite deal on a Husqvarna SM610. Only $3200. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/mcy/2091952408.html Too bad I'm deep into my KLR. I'd need radiator guards, skidplate, TKC80s front and back and a tank on that SM610 before it was what I wanted, and I'd also need to do an CCT check and check the balancer and main gear nuts. Not a lot of work I guess, but it's time to just ride...although I'd suck dick for a nicely set up WR250R.

I'm going to look at an '82 CBX next week. It has 85k on the engine, but the seller says it has recently been extensively gone through and had all wear parts replaced. He hasn't elaborated, but he has receipts for all the work so I will be able to discern what has been done from those. What do you think a good price for it would be? I've never seen another one around here on the road, let alone for sale (within a 100 mile radius, anyway), so I have no frame of reference.
|
# ? Dec 14, 2010 22:29 |
|
CBXes seem to range from around 1500$ at a great deal for a runner that's rough around the edges cosmetically, to 8k+ for a completely pristine, never restored, low mileage, etc. one. It's one of those things where it's completely dependent on the situation. I'd probably shoot for around 2k, personally. That might be considered a heinous lowball, but I'm an rear end in a top hat and I figure at 85k the bike has already seen quite a bit of use.
|
# ? Dec 14, 2010 23:00 |

That's pretty much what I figured, but the one this guy has he says he is dead set on 2900 and if he doesn't get that it'll be chopped for parts. I'm not sure I want to spend that much on one but I also am not sure if I can live with myself to see a runner chopped up, especially when I never see them around here.
|
# ? Dec 14, 2010 23:25 |

Honestly, that's not a horrible price for it, considering the market out here, if it's been well maintained/work has been done and it is a good runner. If he bodged the engine back together, then no loving way. Basically, if the work was done right, that seems like a fair price. If it wasn't, apparently delving into a biohazard bin with your bare hands is what working on them is like.
|
# ? Dec 14, 2010 23:38 |
|
Well he says all the work was done at a shop, so I'll find out what shop when I see the receipts. I know all the good shops within a 100 miles or so of here, so hopefully I will get a good idea of what was done and how. As for biohazard bin, are we talking used heroin needles in a garbage drum or bags of bloody AIDS-infected clothes in a dumpster? I could manage dealing with the bags of AIDS clothes, I think.

It's a Honda, so you should never need to work on it. But if you do, seems like it's the sharp and pointy type all the way. Blaster of Justice would chime in but he's on probation for being a cantankerous old guy

Saga posted:How does this look, DR-Z experts? I don't mean the oh-my-loving-eyes sticker kit... No carb, but the excel rims are nice, so's having the dirt setup. I guess they expect you to swap the rear rotor and sprocket when you swap wheelsets, sort of irritating, I'd pick up a spare rotor and sprocket. I have no idea on price though, considering the exchange rate and your market. Assuming 1/1 (because for some reason that's how it seems to go), that's a awesome deal. I'd easily figure you'd spend 3k on a bike like that over here with both rim setups and the brake kit. If you want an all arounder, that's worth it right there. You can always do suspension upgrades and get it up to the more modern inverted stuff if you feel like it. Edit: RELENTLESS

But you can't see that poo poo when you're riding. It does look very clean for a 2003 in a country where we salt every winter (not southern california remember). I'd better go see it next week ... darn christmas getting in the way.

At least the seller indicates that yes, it does contain elementary particles. Seems pricy for an old bike with "quarks," I would only be paying that much if everything worked on it or if it was rare and I wanted that particular model.

# ? Dec 29, 2010 15:53 |

I'd pay that for a CB400 4, but not the twin, personally. But if you want a CB400 twin, that's reasonable enough. I'd probably show up with 1100$ and offer that if everything's perfect, lower depending on if there's other issues with it.

I honestly wouldn't pay for anything that decays in a matter of nanoseconds. I mean, you're just going to have to pay for the superconductor to create more, and that's like, what... 20-30 million depending on whether you can get a deal on a Z-pinch?

Am I wrong for thinking this is tempting? http://cnj.craigslist.org/mcy/2151123792.htmlquote:i am selling a rare 1968 honda cb 350 been sitting and needs love .. ran when parked bought from original owner has pretty low miles but is a bit crusty.. rear pipes are rusted... will need tank redone for sure and carb cleaning at least email me if you have any interest... I'd offer like 300 since it's not running. I've always wanted to build a cafe racer, and I think this would make a fantastic platform, as long as the frame's not too rusty. The problem is that I live in an apartment, don't have a garage, and have only the bare minimum of tools in a drawer. Also, the girlfriend would murder me for trying to rebuild a bike in the living room in the middle of winter. drat it, I need a house with a garage.
