Did candy companies give out "pimp your ridiculous ride" scholarships a couple years ago or something? With the Lemonhead car, the Reese's one and I'm pretty sure I saw an M&M car a few months ago I'm starting to think that there was some creative "urban" marketing going on.

I totally accept flashy with branding for clothing manufacturers, sports franchises, video games and the like. That makes sense as some of those brands can be interpreted as an indication of social status or loyalty to a team or a community. That kind of stuff I can understand completely. People wear those logos on their clothes and make those products part of their lives and their identity. The candy branding is just so arbitrary that I can't see someone putting any amount of time or effort into tricking out their donk with Sour Patch Kids unless there was some other incentive, perhaps by a third party trying to reach out to an underserved market. Let's put it this way, I've never met someone dressed in head to toe Raiders gear that was paid to dress that way and I've never met someone with candy or soft drink logos all over their body that wasn't. I thought it had to do with selling drugs -- if you're looking for some and you see the M&M donk (for example) give it a wave and you'll be sorted out. It makes a certain amount of sense. There wouldn't necessarily be drugs in the car, but the guy driving it will get in touch with someone who has them.

I have driven the stock v6 camaro before and it was very, very slow. I just don't see how they could kill one. Must be an exaggeration.

GM would put the T-5 behind the 305 in Camaros, but never behind the 350 - and never in the Corvette. Original stick in that car would've been a four-speed. Fun fact: No Corvette was ever built new with a five-speed. Two-speed automatics, three and four speed autos and manuals, a ZF 6-speed, the T-56 and whatever current variant (6060?) six-speed manuals, and the current 6L80E six-speed auto. They even did the Doug Nash 4+3 four-speed with an overdrive hung off the back, but never an actual five-speed.
