Before we engage we should hang back and study their tactics.
I'm really irritated by the way Howard has been discussing the Sirius app, because I honestly can't think of anything that could have possibly stood in the way of his show being available on it before now other than Howard himself. Now he's completely overcompensating, talking like the app is the greatest thing ever, "finally our show is on the mobile app", like he demanded it be on there in his new contract or something.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe in his first contract with sirius he could not be on mobile phones. Maybe because he got a percentage of radios sold or something. Who knows, but I think it was a contractual thing. I'm pretty sure Sirius would have wanted him on the mobile app a long time ago.

Could be but I can almost hear him giving stupid reasons about why he doesn't want to be "downloaded on the internet".

Also, most of the radio "sales" weren't sales anyway, they were free offerings by car dealers.

A few weeks ago they were talking about the new contract and how they had to make some concessions to get some of the things they wanted and under her breath Robin said something about being available on the app and Howard replied with something along the lines of: " Yeah, well they weren't going to let THAT go on too much longer"

I took that to mean they "forced" him to make himself available...did anyone else catch that?

Seeing how ETM gets all pissed off about the rumours of his deaht, inspired me to write this email to Richard Christy today:

Hey man, love the show and all that. I don't know if its been done already, because I don't have the opportunity to listen from begining to end every day. But, I was thinknig a good prank for Eric th Midget would be to announce his death on the air. I've seen some of his youtube videos where he bitches about people spreading rumours about his death, they're great.
But to get real reactions from people, you might need to only have Howard in on it.
Something on the lines of, talk it over with Howard, and have him spring it on the show, Say for example Howard: "I just got a call from so and so saying that ETM died last night".

The rest of the staff, will of course react by being happy or sad, but I think it will make ETM go insane. Then Howard will talk about planning a small memorial service etc...

Its possible that you might need Steve Langford in on it though. Just to give it some "credibility".

Plus it would buy into the Midget drama. Right now ETM wants back on the show but to maintain whatever 'dignity' he has. As you can tell, he's not holding out. If he wanted to vanish, he would simply stop posting YouTube videos. Like always, he wants stuff his way and his way only, and this whole 'stop annoying me' thing is just his way of playing his little mind games. Honestly, at this point it's perfect: you don't have dead air, you don't have the petty games. You can get enough midget insanity for a little bit via YouTube, laugh that the little rear end in a top hat still thinks he's important, and then go on with what remains of the show. Honestly, the ETM as we knew him is dead. It died with Artie's contract. And since there's only nine real hours to the show anymore, why waste that with a pathetic midget who just rambles on and refuses to add content to the show?

ETM is fine where he is: fighting imaginary battles, faking anger, and pretending that the world is against him.

No need. After eight years of this nonsense, the only real question is when he'll call in of his own accord under some stupid rationale that can only come from the giant head of a tiny person with a big ego. I doubt he ever stopped calling in and waiting on hold.

No way that show lasts much longer than Joe Buck's. The only compelling part was when Piers asked Howard why he clams up when it comes to discussing his salary, and then he let Howard squirm right out of it. He had another chance at it when Howard brought up pulling out of the gubernatorial race, but instead he just floated some boring "Do you love your wife?"-type question to change the subject.

It was more likely that he didn't have a clue how the system would work and just thought he was missing out on 99 cents per show. That and you have to cut him a break, back then nobody knew about sim cards.

Bob got pissed off that he wasn't getting 50 plugs after the show anymore and and not getting paid enough for Miserable Men so he decided to go off and badmouth the show on I think it was a podcast?

If I remember right he was boasting that he was the brainchild behind everything on the show pretty much and that they all hosed him, etc. I think the truth was not exactly what he was saying but I think that some of it was true. The show and Howard especially has a terrible track record of using people and then blacklisting/bad mouthing them after they outlived their usefulness. I think a similar situation happened with Billy West which is why he is never going to appear on the show again. Billy, much like Stuttering John have taken the high road and kept their mouths shut, Bob is just a idiot so spouted off like a retard.

A lot of this is true, but you can't take Levy at his word for anything because he is an insane, drug addicted liar with more than one antisocial personality defect. I liked the guy on the show, and his involvement with Miserable Men was just about the only reason I liked that show. Sorry to see him go, sorry it had to end the way it did, but it wasn't going to last forever with Bob, like anything and everything else in his life.

Also, despite the mockery, Howard was always very supportive of John (ie the plugfest of "One, Two, Many" during the Stuttering John Spotlight). Howard turned on him when John started talking poo poo about him on Twitter or whatever.

Former Human
Oct 15, 2001

They never really badmouthed Billy West. After Billy abruptly left and listeners would call in asking about him sometimes Howard would just say "Billy who?"

Billy is a weird guy in general. Listen to his appearance on Greg Fitzsimmons where he doesn't answer half the questions for some reason. He never told anyone except Tom he was leaving the show/station until the day it happened. No one even knew his contract was ending. Right after the show ended that day he said goodbye to people in the office and walked out and hasn't spoken to them since. The guy is hilarious and super talented but he seems really distant and insecure too.

As for Stuttering John, he couldn't take the high road if he had a GPS for it. He doesn't know what the high road is, unless he thinks "high" has to do with inhaling whipped cream. Yeah they goofed on him when he left but they mostly stuck to bashing Jay Leno. John has done an interview or two slamming Howard since leaving.

Despite his crazy talent and how much he'd bring to the show, he was never a perfect fit. Any time they needed him to be candid about anything, it was all deflections and half answers. I get why he'd be uncomfortable during the John Kricfalusi ambush, but it passed awkward into being bizarre at times.

I miss him on the show, and I wish to hell they could at least get one sit down with the guy.
