This is one for the rare 60s one-hit/no-hit wonder music specialist goons because these are two songs my dad asked me to find (baby boomer; teenager in the 60s). He can't remember much about any of them except for the song titles (which may be close, but not exactly right), so I will give you what he gave me. I've scoured the far reaches of Google, but have come up with absolutely nothing. 1.) This protest song may be called "Maybe We Should Listen to the Young Folk" by a country & western singer. It may have been a very minor crossover hit on the charts which my dad says definitely happened in 1967. The basic gist of it is about the singer telling the older listener to at least give the young and new generation a say. A partial lyric goes something like, "... and in these times, when other countries have their missiles pointed at us..." 2.) This upbeat song is probably called "Back in Saigon" which has a similar sound to Christie's "Yellow River." Again, this is another Vietnam era song which is either about soldiers going back for another tour of duty or the singer reminiscing about his time spent there (my dad's more sure of it being the latter). Hoping someone knows these.

The second one might be Charlie Daniels - Still in Saigon.

I was looking for a song from the late 60s when this song came out in 1982. Crazy thing is he loves Charlie Daniels, but didn't associate him with the song. Thanks! That just leaves the other song to find and he'll be a happy camper.

The year was wrong here, too, but that's most definitely it. Looks like it's even hard to find as an album or compilation/greatest hits CD, but at least I now know what to look for. Time for some digging. Thanks, Erebus and PissFilledCumBubble!

Argh, this is probably way too vague even though I probably have the song as an mp3 lying somewhere around my hard disk. Anyways, it's a progressive / psychedelic rock song from the late 60s or 70s. The funny thing is, I can't remember the song much at all but the video is clearly in my head: the hippie guys are playing on top of some rundown apartment. The camera work is sloppy and it's mostly just swapping from one camera angle to another. I saw it off Youtube and the quality was quite poor. Oh, and the bassist had a Danelectro Longhorn bass!

Can someone tell me what the background music is from this commercial? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kE_hhPPBfY It sounds like something Moby would make, but I'm not sure. As you can see, the YouTube comments were... well, about what you expect from YouTube comments.

Well, googling the lyrics came up with a book: Henry Miller's Tropic of Capricorn. So it's probably an ad company or small-time DJ who put the song together. I would just email the company or join their Facebook site and ask there. Couldn't hurt. Googling Osklen and Tropic of Capricorn led me to this: http://vimeo.com/16713206, so it looks (according to Wikipedia) it was a winter collection based on the theme of the book. The song in this clip may be by the same person/group who did your song.

Okay, so there's this Tim McGraw song, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVUlsrtwIkE The opening riff and the chorus sound ridiculously like another song and it's bugging the hell out of me. Any help would be appreciated. EDIT: I should mention that I think the chorus and opening bit are two different songs.

I'm trying to remember the name of a group\song that is escaping me. The group was European and they made chiptune\8bit\rock type music. The one song that sticks out was something like Winterstorm or Snowstorm or something. I wish I had more detail. Edit - Nevermind, it was Machinae Supremacy - Winterstorm

Looking for a really obscure song I heard on this local radio station. Sounds pretty indie and it predominately had violins throughout the song. At one point of the song it repeats "I wrote this song i know this one" and "I know this song I wrote this one". Any ideas?

Got an interesting one. I know the artist and song name, but I can't find where to get the versions I'm used to hearing anywhere. Chicane - Turning Corners http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWyjB9bqNYw Chicane - Far Away From You http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6IQHhMZl04 and possibly Chicane - Way I'm Feelin' These are all from the album Somersault, however they have a more techno sound than the ones I used to have. The linked videos are the lesser electronic ones, I think they're better. I dug around and found that the other versions are the "promotional" versions of the songs, but I can't find how to get them anywhere. Anyone a Chicane fan in here?

I don't think you're meant to get them. There's some talk of people supposedly Ebaying copies, and you could probably find a pirated version if you looked, but I doubt you'll find an official, legal retail release.

I heard a song from here and I can't find it now. It was a music video, really heavy metal. Anyways these two kids were walking around throwing up blood on skaters, and just being goth kids. Then they are in a garage and it's changing from the kid version of themselves to the adult version. I can't remember the name of it. I'm not normally a fan of metal but I liked this one.

Just heard this 80's pop song for - I think - the first time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiTfBOdjj_U&feature=related It reminds me of something I'm sure I've heard before. Infact I'm pretty sure two different parts of the song remind me of two different tracks. 0:29 - 0:34. I'm absolutely certain there is another song that fits that vocal. I think the singer might have been female. Any ideas? Then the chorus, 0:41 - 0:56. Does this sound familiar to anyone else? It might just be I've heard the song before though. Thanks for any help.
