Easy guys, i've been producing for a little while now, heres my latest tune. any comments/criticism would be wicked. cheers!

Tensor- The Void

This sounds like something that would be played in a laser tag arena. And that's not a bad thing at all.

It's creepy, haunting, discomforting. Sounds like something to hide in the shadows and hunt by. I like it.

I don't think it's something I could listen to all the time, but for a certain mood/setting it'd do wonders.

I could also see it working as the soundtrack for a movie scene in which two characters chase each other over rooftops at night or something like that. It has that brooding feel to it.

For those who don't know, Chase and Status's new album just dropped. If you are into a little hip-hop, you will undoubtedly like it. Almost all of the songs have guest singers. True Faith is really popular on Radio 1 right now I'm pretty sure, but I can't stand it. It's probably my least favorite track on the album.

It's far from strictly drum and bass though. There are dubstep elements, and some hip hop and rap thrown in.

What do y'all think of the Qemists? I heard the instrumental of Dem Na Like Me in a live dubstep set, and after SoundHound clued me into the original, which is loving awesome, I checked out the album it's on (Join the Q) and it's not half-bad.

So... mediocre.
I like that one, mostly because it's a decent backing track for Wiley to guest on.

I imagine the general ~internet~ opinion is "you'll like them if you're some sort of scrub that likes Pendulum/Chase & Status/etc" or something. Personally I'd say gently caress that, because they might not be great but they still put on an awesome live show that is well worth seeing.

As a person who is not into (American) Hip-Hop/Rap (I know I probably sound elitist), I loving love Dem Na Like Me. Probably the first track from them I really liked. Of course since then, I realize the greatness that is Lost Weekend and I really like S.W.A.G. too - reminds me of a Gorillaz song or something.

You should look into their latest album. It's got a track with Enter Shikari that is pretty awesome, not to mention a few other awesome rock/rap-influenced drum and bass.

My brother had it on a mix CD that he was playing when I was driving around with him in like 2000 or 2001. I remember loving it like crazy and searching Kazaa (or BearShare, whatever I was using at the time) for hours and not being able to find it :(

I think it would be fun if did something every Friday, just have the regulars post like five videos for whatever dnb theme we decide to go with, and try to vary it up, see if we turn anyone on to something new, or just get nostalgic about tunes that still make the hair on the back of our necks stand up.

Trace was who myself and a lot of my friends jocked hard in 1996 and 1997. His time in Philly and proximity to my area, we saw him play pretty regular, always super cutting edge with his selection, and every couple of months someone got a hold of some random mixtapes he did, and we'd have them dubbed and traded within days.

My local vinyl shop has a lot of Metalheadz and Sub Base records but the selection is kinda fluid and iffy on any other old school so its hard to find other things but I've been snatching what I can. At 3$ a cut, hell yeah.
