The problem with deathcore fans is, no one is understanding that the Northern hardcore gangster look has been around since loving hatebreed back in 2001. All the flat brim hats are simply an extension of the tough guy new yorker look from Northern hardcore bands like Hatebreed, Terror etc. etc.

Wearing a flat brimmed hat and sleeveless t shirt's isn't emulating rap, it's emulating the way people in the NE have been throwing down for about 10 years now.

Then it's not loving Deathcore, it's simply tough guy hardcore pushed to the extreme.

What's the deal with myspace anyways? The only thing I've ever used it for is checking out bands tour dates, but even those are unreadable now.

I've got a couple chances to see Shai Hulud this week. I haven't seen them in a few years so I will be jumping off of any/everything. Since I probably won't recognize the singer, I will consider the microphone my own.

Emmure used to be pretty cool and then became almost a parody of themselves, IMO. I liked their first couple of records. They took a turn with whatever album had Kurt Angle on the cover, and it's been awful from then on.

Also Despised Icon is the most "gangster" deathcore band I have ever seen. (they rule, not a knock on them)

Yeah whatever conflict was eventually resolved (the brief fist fight thing may or may not have even happened) but basically "Goodbye to the Gallows" directly lifted a number of parts from "3750". I really like both albums though so I couldn't care less because now I get to listen to more good music! :)))))))

There's tons of ways to make interesting and unique -core riffs.

One good thing would be to stop open picking all the goddamn time. Put some melody or progression in the breakdowns/chugs. This is one reason I love groups like BTBAM. Very few of their breakdowns are just one chord or note. They're usually a chord progression. It makes it a lot more interesting to listen to because there is a semblance of a melody in addition to the rhythmic aspect.

This is part of why Parkway Drive is so good (better than BTBAM):c00l:

I don't actually know what open picking is but they incorporate melody into their breakdowns, like in "Samsara" which is one of the most bestest intro songs ever.

Parkway Drive is awesome, they're just a totally different thing from BTBAM so I couldn't really say one is better than the other (though BTBAM totally is :p )

an interesting subtle example is in this song Destructo Spin. the breakdown thing at about 55 seconds in is actually three chords repeated over and over. It is so low and crunchy that it almost sounds like just one note unless you really pay attention but it really does add a lot of depth even to mostly rhythmic riffs.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfdNeS7ecGw#t=52s

open picking is just picking the bottom string without holding a fret, so it's the lowest possible note on the guitar. That's what lots of -core bands do.

but hell, my favorite band is HORSE and almost all their breakdowns are just open chugging on the guitar so it doesn't always mean lovely

So, for those who don't follow them on Facebook, The Arusha Accord just announced that they're re-releasing their EP and album as a double disc collectors edition that also comes with some photos/videos and other things. Also, on their website they've posted tabs for a bunch of songs off of The Echo Verses. Looks like I'll be busy for awhile. :)

They also resigned to a record label so it looks like well see a new album eventually!!

Don't try to argue with him, he's the dude that considers Emmure as Deathcore while arguing that they're only pushing the tough guy hardcore gimmick

Although this is a pretty bad example, yes, The Ghost Inside is more metalcore than merely hardcore. The metal influences are pretty easy to hear and if you consider them as plain hardcore you're dumb.

Not enough breakdowns for this thread I guess. Pretty sure this song got a positive reaction in the Punk/hardcore/emo thread. It's pretty sweet. I really dig the 2nd half of the song because it goes in a completely different direction than I was expecting it to. I like his vocals a lot too.

This is hilarious.

Dude is developmentally disabled, yes?

quote:

In “Last Words To Rose,” I’m speaking through a spiritual, alternate identity I have discovered of myself known as the character "M. Bison.” This song is about his relationship with another character who is only known as "Rose." This song would take a lot of personal research for people to completely grasp the message.

Lights Bring Salvation
A lot of people who are reading this might have heard or read about my beliefs in a planet called Nibiru, and that it is on collision with Earth. But a lot of you might not be aware of something called the Ashtar Command. To fully grasp this song, it will take a lot of personal research on both these subjects. But to knock this down into a few words, the song is about the "what if" of a possible star or planet crashing into the Earth, and if we are going to be saved. If some of us are and some of us are not, who will you reach out to save your soul?

Even if he's trying to be funny, his sense of humor is retarded.
