That camera looks just fine, for $12 whats not to like? Not everyone needs a $200 camera for short recordings.

That whistle in your helmet must get reaalllllly annoying after a while. Do you have one of these kinda things? I was looking at them and for $20 and passable video quality I don't think you can really go wrong. What size is the memory card in yours? I was thinking of getting a 4 or 8GB but I'm not sure if it'll really need that much because I would have thought the battery would die before I fill up the memory card. Make sure you get a class 4 or higher microSD card (I bought class 6, 8 gb) or the video is choppy. I've also read that 1gb = ~50 min of video, and battery life says like 2 hours. Other than that they haven't come in yet so I can't really comment on quality yet.

I have only gotten my to record for 45 minutes before it quits. I am happy with it for what I spent. I have a 8GB SD card and I have not come close to using it up, 4GB should be fine.

Stick one of these on it: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/15mm-detachable-180-degree-wide-angle-fish-eye-lens-for-cell-phones-and-compact-digital-cameras-39814 and its not that bad for the money. I was thinking of gettting a gopro or something, but they are just so overpriced for what they do (they cost ~$480 over here). Ive taken that little combo on the bike, skiing and skydiving and for something just to get a record of the event its great. Cheap enough that if it gets lost or broken its not the end of the world. They do need to be mounted on a stable point, so far Ive just clipped it onto a shoulder strap or something and you do see the rolling shutter effect quite badly.

Consider buying from the US if price is a problem where you live. I live in Australia and the prices are similar here, but buying from somewhere like ridersdiscount.com can save you a lot of money. Through a mate on the Triumph forums I was able to snag a HeroHD for another friend at about AU$250 landed via ridersdiscount (they were offering extra discounts to Triumph forums members), a massive price cut. Even at full price I wouldn't say the HeroHD is overpriced for what it is, personally. It's a small form factor camera which shoots a range of resolutions including 720p30, 720p60 and 1080p30, comes with a fully waterproof case and seems to be more or less indestructible. At the prices you can get it for overseas though, it's pretty ridiculous value if you ask me.

I'd say he lost all lean confidence going over those patches, grabbed the brake, tucked the front and down he went. Pretty scary to watch, I'd hate to be in that spot.

If you look at the few seconds right before he hit, the tach goes to idle. I'm betting he did the squid thing by panicking and grabbing an rear end-ton of rear break. Lucky he didn't hit the curb with his body, or the bike didn't hit him. I also laughed how he tucked down every time he accelerated. Can't have any more drag at 80mph!

Reminds me of one of my last trips up to WI on my SV650. Normally these trips always get the better of me towards the end just zoning out and getting tired (naked SV) and everything. Well going through Chicago there are a lot of lane curves, merges, and crazy poo poo going through and around old construction zones. Well I was hanging with a Porsche, coming around a graceful left hand curve, going downhill and about to level off, and all of a sudden the Porsche cuts right. loving transitioned from graceful left turn to a right turn and I had like no space left. Grabbed a fist full of throttle and did the best lean I could muster and saved it. I think I ended up taking an Oasis exit shortly there after and took a break for a bit.

This has been posted before, but is worth a repeat. Short version: A Michigan millionaire owns a big collection of MV Agusta motorcycles, like 75 of them. They are all on display at the Dow Museum of Science and Art in Midland, MI through April 10. If you are a MI motogoon, this would make an awesome first road trip of the year. http://tinyurl.com/5wxaybp - Video of the museum display. http://tinyurl.com/6adxnhf - Photos of most of the bikes

Was cleaning up the shop a little bit today, and I wanted to sweep the floor, so I opted for a family photo. 5 cylinders, and not even 1000cc.

I love the all the bare metal on the engine and frame, but the giant blob of plastic on the front and on the valve covers kind of ruins it.

Rider in Vancouver was killed yesterday. Was riding a brand new 2011 Z1000 and hit a dump truck. Bad way to start the season. This is somewhat appropriate. Remember, you're never safe out there. Word of warning, this appears to have some footage of fatal collisions in it. But it is a very sobering reminder to the risks we all take, and you can't ignore that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45hvFqzo8PY

Addison Lee, despite sounding like a pornstar name, is a private taxi/courier/moving van company. Why not motorbike taxis too! It has a luggage rack on the back for your carry-on and everything. edit: whoops, apparently I live in Australia! (and it's an attachment so I guess I'm stuck there)

I took a taxi bike to get from the airport to downtown Paris. Rider was off his rocker and I'm sure if I didn't already ride my own bike like a nutter it would've been a traumatizing experience. Lane splitting at ridiculous speeds, slamming the breaks, hopping curbs and rolling down sidewalks, jumping green lights, it was worth the 50 euros he swindled my foreign rear end for. If anything it was payment for a first hand lesson on how to ride properly in France.
