I've been working my way through UYD starting from Episode 1, made it up to 74 so far. I love when Jonathan will laughingly recall some story from his childhood that's just so shocking/hosed up that Seth is left at a total loss for words. Off the top of my head they were: "As a teenager I'd heard somewhere that marijuana makes you infertile, so I always used to tell girls I was infertile so I could rawdog them." "So my classmates and I were living in this Mexican village with a host family, and this one time the father gave us all some kind of laced weed and was playing hardcore mexican porn on a projector. So we're all watching the porn and I got so turned on that I pushed everyone else out of the room and boned down on a girl classmate that was there. I haven't talked to her since." After both of those stories Seth couldn't say anything, it was just a long oh-god-what-do-I-say-next pause.

Honestly it drives me absolutely nuts when Jonathan talks about being broke, or forgetting to pay his phone bill, or the like. He's got to have, or at least have access to, an absurd amount of cash. Or maybe he doesnt, I dunno, but his dad's got cash and you always hear Seth go silent when Jonathan mentions money

I made that mistake once as a teenager, but Jah is pushing 30 and has a wife and poo poo.

Episode Twenty of Digital Porridge is up: the fan no-appreciation 'silent' episode...well we tried to do the first-ever silent show, but the booze must have gotten to us, and the tributes to Nate Dogg and Smiley Culture started pouring out. Check it out: http://www.digitalporridge.com/ RSS feed iTunes Every episode has 'show notes' on the site with links, pictures and videos relating to the stuff we talk about, and we encourage listener blog posts, reviews, emails and all that good feedback stuff, and we'd love to hear from other goons.

The story of Jah climbing into bed with his parents while shrooming, where they actually then get the old man on the phone to discuss it on air, is the best. It's one of the best podcast segments I've ever heard, and is probably up there with the best This American Life pieces.

I probably don't have time to listen to another 90min podcast in my life but maybe I'll try to give UYD another chance. I listened to Episode 1 a while back and it was pretty unfunny. Also this week's DLM sounds fine to me, and I got it on Friday morning. I could have totally gone 0 names and gotten into the Tournament of Championships with that first Len Maltin round too.

Just published the first episode of a goon run podcast called The Drunken Bulldog, wherein which we exclusively take drunk dials from the local college and riff on them. http://feeds.feedburner.com/TheDrunkenBulldog It's new, and we're pretty inexperienced as hosts, but we have a lot of fun doing it and are looking forward to doing more.

Clovis Sangrail posted:Do you have the episode number at hand for that one? I tried finding it via the wiki, but no luck. Episode 130 46:13 - Jah was mentioning a story to someone the other day and in the middle of it started questioning whether the story was true. He thus proceeds to call his father on his cell in the middle of the show and ask if, when he was younger, he jumped in bed with his parents when he was tripping balls. His dad confirms that the story was indeed true. Jonathan was about 15-16 years old, his parents were asleep in the bed at Malibu. Jah knocked on the balcony door, walked in very happy to see them. He proceeded to crawl in the bed between the two parents, professed his undying love for them and his intention to never, ever leave the house. Mr. Larroquette figured he was tripping because he could have put a floodlight in his eyes and they wouldn’t have dilated. Jah made his mother very happy in saying he would never leave the house. Jah didn’t stay in bed, he just went downstairs and probably masturbated to women’s bodybuilding. Mr. Larroquette: “It was very nice of you to call and remind us of that wonderful, blissful night.” e: FYI I found it in the wiki by searching "bed" under the category "UYD Stories"

Catching up on the last week of Eardrops... I just love the mental image of Lil' Gary wandering SXSW with a Kraft single on a lanyard, trying to get into shows. "People already think he's food, this is not good." Speaking of, if they can sell "Steak Shake" on the Earwolf store, "I Am Not Food" is long overdue.
