I like it with Disney movies because I can give those to whichever set of my nieces do not yet have that movie. It is a waste of resources in most other cases, even though I liked the idea of having a DVD copy of the movies at first. I realized I have never actually used one.

I like them because counting computers I have about four DVD players to my one blu-ray player. So if I want to watch it somewhere other than my PS3 I have that ability.

I like them because they're shiny, and if you turn them over, you can see your reflection sort of.

Anyone own a copy of the Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford that can comment on the blu-ray quality? The guys over at DVD beaver tore it a new rear end hole on the picture quality. Is there any news of an upcoming new release on blu? Also, why the hell is it $41 for us Canadians vs $7 for Americans? http://www.amazon.ca/Assassination-Jesse-Coward-Robert-Blu-ray/dp/B0013K7ZW2/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1300576055&sr=8-5

Was at Wal-mart yesterday to pick up Watchmen directors cut for only $10 loving bucks, what a steal, even if the movie puts me to sleep. Question though, they had Wizard of Oz for $15. I was wondering if this had everything from the giant box set without all the fluff and giant box?

Guess I'll ask here, Amazon is sending people who purchased a blu-ray player a $6 off unique code for a select amount of movies. If you aren't planning on using yours, I would love you forever if you could pass it along my way via PM. I would love to get Psycho for $6 after the code and my own gift card balance.

I like the "how to spot a walker" insert in The Walking Dead blu. I don't normally look at the inserts when opening the movie and for some reason I just glanced at that one and was surprised. Kinda makes me wonder what others I might have missed.

The Digital Bits confirms two things... Once Upon a Time in the West will have both the "International" cut and the new restored/extended version. The Fellowship of the Ring's extended edition will be from a new remaster from the 2K digital files.

Just got The Venture Bros. Season 4 in. Packaging is barebones - no slipcover like last time (and they didn't use the reversible cover art from the DVD release of part 1). Commentaries on every episode, all the extras - which are mostly deleted scenes and a series of line readings - are in HD save for the Comic-con promos and alternate season intro. I was surprised at how good Season 3 looked on bluray, and this one maintains that level of image quality, especially for a show produced on the cheap.

Wow, I just saw Taxi Driver at AMC and it was incredible on the big screen. It was probably the 5th or 6th time I've seen it but watching it that big and up close felt like a different movie, so much more intense. Not to mention the new restoration was beautiful, it looked like it could have been shot yesterday. I guess I need the Blu-Ray.

I would pay so much money to see Taxi Driver on the big screen. I can't believe they're selling it for only $13. Everyone should buy. And I do mean EVERYONE. ALL OF YOU! There's no reason not to. It's cheaper than most blu-rays and better than almost all of them. Yes, I do realize I'm preaching to the converted but hopefully just one of you happens upon this post who isn't a regular and will take note. Yes, I really love this film and the blu-ray looks fantastic and makes it a must-buy for the price.
