Oh god

Listen to the Judge John Hodgman episode "Cone-tractual Dispute". Hodgman calls out the defendant for being a massive, relentless hipster and its pretty clear throughout the episode that he resents the guy on a visceral level.

Yeah, that was a great one. The descriptions of the photos of him dancing with the dog in "awesome basement" and the concept of eating 100 vegan cones of food were hilarious.

Her hunting and tracking skills were superb. She was never quite excepted though, until the war broke out between Spanish settlers and her tribe. She gave her life for her people. She fought hard and fierce, but a bullet was put through her. And no matter how strong and courageous she was asked to join the gods. She still dances through the fields where she was killed and plays her flute so that all can hear. The white man calls her flute playing: Wind.

The Kathleen Madigan episode has been my favorite since Dave Foley. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did because I didn't really like her special, but her road stories with Lewis Black are hilarious and the interview very quickly turns into just a fun conversation between her and Marc.

Also, Marc is totally right and I would watch the hell out of a TV show of her and Lewis touring the country and encouraging people to drinking and gamble.

You dont have to but its certainly fun to do to discover turns of phrases and expressions that sprout up and become "things" also, the ongoing discovery of info about the hosts is a lot of fun.

I think he mentioned in a recent-ish episode that he once used "eat a dick" as a way to express his being surprised or something like that. Just like some people say "get outta here" or something like that. So it may have been meant to be less unfriendly than it seemed.

I might be wrong, though.

Oh, he was joking. I texted him and asked him, to clarify once and for all, whether or not he owned a television. This was during like a two month period when he mentioned during every podcast that he, in fact, did NOT own a television. He responded that I could eat a dick, and then laughed it off in a follow up text.

Then a few weeks later he bought a TV.

But it was nice for a day having my facebook status as "John Laroquette's son just told me to eat a dick."

Disapproving look
With all this talk of listening to UYD from the beginning I think I'll have to take that up as a long-term listening project. Once a week isn't quite enough right now!

Also, Episode 21 of Digital Porridge is online now! It’s the follow-up to our cold shoulder episode, and, well…hopefully we pick up right where we left off. We want to shake off that awkwardness, so we start off with talk of blind dates! Those are never awkward, are they? Neither is our next subject, bullying, starting a cult, and finally a special prize for a Digital Porridge listener who referred a friend to the show. The prize? A special, one-of-a-kind song for the referrer...it's...well, unique.

I've been listening to UYD since about 2007, and every year since then I usually go back at the end of the year and listen to all those shows from that year, I just got done listening to 2010s shows and it's awesome because when I'm listening to those episodes, I randomly get flashbacks of poo poo I was doing last year while listening to those episodes.

I also want to recommend Stuff You Should Know again, not a comedy podcast but the hosts are really funny.

edit: I guess I should describe it. Every tuesday and thursday a new episode is released, which is a 30-40 minute rundown of varied topics like "How Castles Work", "How Muppets Work" or "How Reincarnation Works". It's not just two guys talking out their asses about random things, they actually do their homework and usually base them off articles their co-workers at howstuffworks.com have written.

Starting at the beginning of UYD has been pretty cool, you get to experience a lot of their "Podcast Firsts" with them, like the first time they got an email/voicemail/phone call from an actual listener who isn't one of their friends, or the first time a listener sent them energy drinks, first time a fan made fun of one of their games, etc.

What's weird to me is that, despite mentioning it every single episode for 3-4 months, Jah still loses his poo poo every time he says "Show me the twiiiiiiiiins." To be fair it makes me lose my poo poo too though.
