It's gonna get heavy really fast. Of course being that big means there's more room for tougher joints, an the design is fairly slender, so I might be surprised Oh poo poo new page, uh, uh, here! ^^ That's the best small-scale Eva I've seen. Stevoh posted:Ha ha, I have a Perfect Grade Eva 01 that has been under my bed for about a decade. One day I will build it. I'm curious if that Eva 01 will need bracing though when finished. I'm very curious how he will do the torso/torso plates. Was your guys' skeleton about the same size? That thing looks like it'll be a lot bigger than what we built. It'll be interesting to see if it can stand on its own. Also, if you ever build the Perfect Grade Eva, I'd ignore the whole "no glue" thing unless you're going to put it in a glass case. The smaller armor plates on the chest and back fall off really easily. I'm sure I've lost a bunch over the years. Someday I'll have to see what's left of all those old Eva models sitting in a box in my closet. I could never bring myself to toss them seeing as they cost me a drat fortune back when I was in high school. If that SHIP of yours is an original design, that's pretty impressive. I figured it must've been from somewhere. quote:EDIT: I should mention, this thread and the last one is what got me back into Lego and made me sign up for somethingawful. Thanks fellas! Glad to know we're (re)converting people!

About to go up to the shops and will likely come back with some S4 figs (that's sort of the reason I'm going really, but I'll get some food to justify the trip) and I've just looked up the new dot decoder on a few places. minifigcollector.com being one, if anyone is looking for one. I assume they're accurate? I was terrible at reading the dots for the last series, so I think I'm just going to feel for the bulky geisha dress and surfboards before resorting to one.

I'd grab a big pile, and look for ones with obvious dot codes, setting aside the rest, and then start comparing codes. Pyroclastic fucked around with this message at 18:32 on Mar 26, 2011 |

I noticed a lot of them didn't have any dots on, yeah. Really annoying really. Went through the whole of what was left in the box and didn't find anything that seemed like a punk or mad scientist.

So I've had a sort of late birthday spree. First, I was out grocery shopping today and my usual Fred Meyer/Smith's had 4 boxes of series 4 figs With no cheat sheet I set to work, and before long I had 4 Hazmat guys, which was what I really wanted: The helmet is REALLY easy to feel for, but I almost mistook one for a hockey guy. The geisha is also really easy to feel for with that sloped brick for a dress. That's not all of course. About two weeks ago, Toys R Us had the Slave 1 on sale for 30% off. With their markup that only brought it down to $67, but I decided to pick it up 'just in case.' Then I thought, surely I could find it cheaper without minifigs, cuz I didn't really care about those. Sure enough, I managed to get it for $36 shipped off Ebay: So now I'm gonna take the other one back for a refund. ALSO, I went and bought about 1000 pieces off bricklink: Because I am INSANE CRAZY PERSON

Just drove an hour to the only Toys R Us in the area and they were all out of S4. Had gone through several boxes in a few days they said. Had tons of S3 though and at 10% off so I grabbed five. Tried to feel for the elf, didn't care much about the rest. Ended up with the fisherman, Indian, samurai, and extras of the baseball guy and tennis girl. (Also got a Pharoh's Quest motorcycle coz I love the dynamite and stained wifebeater with suspenders). Looked into a nearby Target, nothing, completely forgot that there was a Meijer nearby. If I don't end up finding any S4, would anyone be willing to trade for the geisha and musketeer?

I might have a hookup for 100 lbs of LEGO. Can somebody tell me something about price-per-pound issues? It's a friend of a friend and I'm assuming he's just getting rid of junk from childhood, so I want to offer a price that's fair to both of us, or maybe favors me a little bit, so I get a good deal without being an rear end in a top hat. Price per pound rates should be in the OP, maybe. I know the 10 bricks to a dollar rule of thumb, but not bulk rates. I know it comes up from time to time, but this thread is really long and hard to search through on account of all the images.

So you could 'fairly' give them $500, or you could offer $200 if you think they'd take it and save yourself a lot of money. InfinEight fucked around with this message at 20:25 on Mar 28, 2011 |

God drat you Lego thread. I am so poor, but seeing all this cool Lego stuff really wants to get me back into it. My local store has an X-Wing and an ISD there. I'd also love the medieval village, but I just can't afford it . I've sorted through all my old Lego but I have a lot less than I thought. I have it all organized by colour. I've been searching for garage sales and online classifieds but all that is kicking around is Mega Blocks and who wants that? As consolation I got myself a mini X-Wing. Now I have to dig out some parts to build him a TIE Fighter to battle.

Right now, I'm sitting near the entrance to Legoland California waiting for my tour bus to come back to take me to Anaheim. I decided that I didn't want to deal with renting a car to drive myself, and All Anaheim Tours has a day trip to Legoland for $90 that included admission, so I went for it. I walked around the park for a couple hours looking at stuff and taking pics I'll post if they turn out (camera phone and I couldn't see the screen at all thanks to sunlight). The new Star Wars section of miniland opened today, and the set pieces looked great. A lot of the set pieces elsewhere need cleaning and a fresh cost of clearcoat, which is peeling off everywhere. The PAB section is grossly overpriced at $8 per quarter pound, or $95 for just 3 pounds. I still picked up a couple handfuls of headlight bricks, though. They had a buy one get one deal on the build a minifig bench, which had some s1 bits and other specialist bits. I made an Ariel mermaid for my niece and some misc minifig bits for me. That was gonna be pretty much it got me, when I made the mistake of checking to see if my paycheck had been deposited. Which lead me to buying the new space shuttle, the new lego star wars game, the medieval market village, winter bakery, and winter toy shop. And 4 polybagged sets--2 each of the new atlantis sets and a knight set that has horse head decoration that could be cool. Not a whole lot for a lone guy in his 30s to do--I wish we had more time down here and I could have convinced my sister to come with my 5-year-old niece and 1-year-old nephew. They would have loved the rides, particularly all the water-themed ones.
