im really interested in this. Im new to the iphone 4, but i havent found a way to subscribe or favorite the podcast i listen to, i just have to relook them up everytime on itunes and go from here. There is no other way, right?

I just got into comedy death ray radio and im loving it. Gets me through the work day much easier tham music does. Time flies.

Ive heard good things about the Ricky Gervais stuff, would any one recommend that or anything similar to it?

You can subscribe in iTunes and then sync your podcasts. It's the only reason I ever sync.

Is there a good iPad app for podcasts that's free? I've gone on a spending spree since I've gotten it and I don't want to buy any more apps for awhil.

I use the app Podcaster. It's not the most intuitive program in the world, but it lets you stream AND download podcasts without connecting to a wireless network. It lets you set up rules about what gets downloaded automatically, and you don't need to connect it to itunes. It's a little buggy, but it's a lot better than managing it all through itunes.

is this an iphone app? if so, is it available for android?

Just use BeyondPod. There's a free "lite" version with a 7 day free trial of the paid, and you only lose a few features that are for convenience. It's a fantastic app, I haven't had to use iTunes in months.

I love Podcaster, I just wish it supported the enhanced podcast features like the pictures in Superego.

Google Listen is still my favorite podcast app. Very intuitive controls, and it lets you set up a que to play in your desired order.

I used Listen for the longest time but it had so much trouble syncing with Reader that I was desperate for alternatives. I miss it sometimes, but BeyondPod does everything and more, so I'll just complain to myself that I can't merge the two into one mighty podcast app.
The BP queue is fantastic, though I go a little crazy and usually I have 15 hours in it at a time.

Is this about that DLM? Rainn Wilson and the Super director were both kind of difficult. You don't have to plug your movie with every answer.

I feel like both of those South By Southwest podcasts were rough in an unpleasant way. And is it just me or does Dave Foley come off as a jerk on his podcast appearances? I don't know what it is, but I get the growing idea he's a creep.

I like him, but he's like... how to put it?
Imagine your favorite uncle as a kid, but as you get older, you notice he's a little molesty. He's still funny, but sometimes he has a weird smile or says some weird poo poo and it's kind of uncomfortable. It's like that.

People are under a lot of stress, Bradley.
I just think Dave has been through hell with his ex-wife so he's pretty much just emotionless. I don't think it was so much that he doesn't give a poo poo about stand-up, but rather he was just forced into it because he had no other means of sustaining an income. And despite how jaded he is, I thought he was still hilarious on WTF and Joe Rogan's podcast.

While I thought Rainn Wilson came across weirdly antagonistic with Simon Pegg at times, I thought James Gunn was just fine. Like the appearance with Kevin Smith before I get the feeling they maybe didn't quite get what they were getting into though.

Yeah I thought there was something a little odd with Rainn Wilson as well, maybe he didn't like getting "upstaged" by having a much bigger name on at the last minute. I thought Pegg was awesome, but I'm a big fan of his anyway.

Just a heads up to say Adam and Joe are back. Their first episode back isn't great, but I'm sure they'll get better soon.

For those who are unfamiliar. Adam and Joe cut a podcast from their live BBC radioshow. I don't really know how to describe their style. They use a lot of segements like Text the Nation (text text text the nation) and Made up Jokes and no cursing, but they are very likeable and interesting.

Don Dimelo had me in cramps this morning. I can normally listen to CDR while walking into my office, but I was laughing so hard that I had to kill it before getting to the building. Holy poo poo. Kind of a waste of Patton, but whatever. Don/Andy had all 3 of them losing it during the show.

Andy Daly is great, but Dom Dimelo is one of his weaker characters. We need more August Lindt.

I agree, Hott Dog was really funny. I just feel like Don is based entirely on a catchphrase ('bring out the gurls!'). Although, to be perfectly honest, I tend to like characters that are basically 'here's a funny voice/accent I can do'. That's why it took me a while to warm up to Bob Ducca.

Blowin' up da moon.
The Third Benson Interruption: The Podcast is on itunes for buying (Greg Proops performs, so it's a must-buy for me).

the Steve Agee: Uhh with Liam Lynch was pretty enjoyable just for the conversation about Liam's cloned cat.

I feel nothing but bad for poor Dave Foley. I've heard him on Rogan and WTF and in both he goes into his former marriages in detail. But on DLM he does seem to be just having fun :unsmith:, He was a good guest on the one with Jeff Garland (who I hope to hear again) (that whole episode was pretty funny).

A boy's best friend is his mother.
After 77 pages of hearing how awesome UYD is, I d/l'd a couple and I have say...wow, another great pick. A really excellent departure from the improv radness of CDR, the serious listening of WTF, the structure of Who Charted and HDTGM, and the crazy weirdness of Superego and PFTompkast.

I used to get my coupla-white-guys-sittin-around-talkin fix from Nerdist (which I still love), and now I get to add UYD to the rotation. Really good stuff. Fun, chill, clever.

I am now listening to about four hours a day of different podcasts and couldn't be happier. If my sister doesn't get her poo poo together and start cranking out the Walking With Michelles, she's going to miss the boat.

Also I got to see Sarah Silverman and Tig Notaro a couple weeks ago during Sarah's book tour. I've met Tig before, but this was the first time meeting Sarah and she couldn't have been more loving rad. Her show was the very, very best standup I've ever seen. Then she did a Q&A with the audience (at the U of MN) with Tig. They were both so goddamned hilarious. Enhanced appreciation for Tig's style, and am now a slave to the whim of Sarah Silverman. You MUST go see either or both of these women the moment they come into your 200 mile radius.
