Just in case.
My partner bought me Beauty & the Beast Diamond Edition yesterday. I have never appreciated a Disney film on such an artistic level before, the water colored background scenes and the details of the castle really made me think about how much time and effort went in to just making the scenes for this film. The extra song "Human Again" (I think it was called) was nice and their seems to be plenty of extra features on the disc but goddamn am I glad they never added those deleted scenes that Library scene was incredibly disjointed and unfunny. Early designs of Beast made him look like a big teddy bear.

Taxi Driver came in. Goddamn, this is an incredible box, and it comes with some sweet picture stills from the film. It kinda annoys me that the box is wider than bluray/dvd cases.

And it's all a loving steal for 13 bucks!

It seriously is. It embarrasses all other non-criterion bluray releases.

I can't believe there's people out there, who walks into a store and pays nearly $30 dollars for a barebones bluray/dvd combo of Gnomeo and Juliet or Yogi Bear, and we get loving Taxi Driver in a nice sleek case with some nice extras, for only 12.99

Oops, yeah. I didn't misspeak but I must have misremembered (or imagined) a really old article from back when Return of the Joker was announced but had no release date. I thought I remembered them saying that Phantasm was announced as well but also had no release date, but I can't find it anywhere now.

I assume you're talking about blu-ray.com? That Batman Beyond thread is dead to me. Two or three assholes were flipping out over how the disc was going to be window-boxed 4:3 because some fansite reported it, and that apparently "confirmed" WB was going to take a non-anamorphic 16:9 SD transfer and somehow turn that into window-boxed 4:3 HD through some physically impossible chain of conversions. The whole thing was beyond ludicrous so I made one final post and closed by saying I was done with the thread until release day. Sure enough the disc is the proper pillar-boxed 4:3 HD, so I made a post congratulating the fact that common sense and precedent once again reigned victorious - and it was deleted by a mod. Retarded.

Absolutely. There's also a group of people complaining that they fixed the constant flickering in the original Tron. I want to repeat that to accentuate what they're complaining about : they are complaining that Disney went back and, with the director's request and supervision, fixed the incredibly annoying issue of a constant flickering present throughout the entire movie. These people WANT that on their remastered blu-ray. I'm out. May their OCD one day claim their lives.

The slipcover people are one thing. Now apparently there are "sticker" people who want the original stickers on the slipcovers, and even the stickers on the SHRINKWRAP, complete. There's one who's so crazy he wants the original inserts - not like chapter listings or essays like a few rare discs have now and then, but the "original first pressing" firmware warnings, advertisements, etc. If I was that OCD, if every purchase was that big an ordeal, I'd loving kill myself. No joke.

I want so badly to go in these people's homes and just rough up their movie collections. Nothing bad that would bother a normal person. Just put some scuffs on the paper, maybe crease the slip art. Stuff no sane person could notice.

And then lick the readable side of each disc.

Yeah, I pitched mine too. Sometimes I'll save it, if it fits easily into the case (like with the Godfather set), but definitely not worth the hassle here.

Alternately, you could take something out of the Chris Columbus films post-Home Alone 2: Lost In New York, pre-Percy Jackson and the Olympians period section and put it in the Paul WS Anderson Minor Classics (excluding Resident Evil 2 and 3) section.

I have to admit that I care about getting my packaging in good condition, but I've been caring less and less over the years. When I get something initially, I inspect it. Litte dents bother me, but then I don't even care the next day. Honestly, it's probably about how busy you are in your life and what kind of priorities you have.
