Yeah that's a Macintosh Plus (with a whopping 1 MB of RAM).

It actually stop working a few years back so I did a little conversion:

2 wireless routers, one is b/g for my wife's iPhone 3GS while the other is a n-router for my laptop and iPhone 4. The box on the left is a LaCie 1TB USB drive.

Ummm... aren't n-routers almost always compatible with b/g devices?

Yes but unless they're the more expensive simultaneous dual-band varieties, performance goes in the shitter when you connect a legacy device to the network. I could see why someone would keep an old router around for B/G devices.

I agree, that's amazing. I bought 4 Lacks while I was down at Ikea last weekend getting the desk, they were on sale for ~$5.99. I am going to convert one of these immediately.

How prone is that fish tank to spilling? Am starting to think about what I want on my new desk and that would probably be a nice fit, BUT I bump into my desk all the time and things can shuffle a bit. Would not like to worry about flooding my gear everytime I hit a knee.

It's a Fluval Edge tank, an plastic box basically and the only opening is under that small hood in the center. All the ones I've seen have been a huge maintenance task to keep clean, but if you want to put the work in it looks great.

I'm okay with the work to keep clean, but I just need to know that it can take the occasional bump/shake without spilling all over the place. Will look further into it, because one would def fit well.

It would be pretty hard to make it spill anything.

Pish, I know I'm straining the hell out of my MacBook outputting 1080p while playing WoW, watching a movie, etc. Don't worry about it. ;)

I'm still trying to figure out if I should keep my laptop's screen closed or open. I don't have much room on my desk for two keyboards, but two screens would be awesome.

Nice. I wonder how easily this can be adapted to make a TV stand with shelves for A/V hardware and game consoles. Something that's lower and wider than the original--like 3 or 4 narrow-spaced shelves and a 3 x 2 set of beams like this:

code:

I'm not too keen on the idea of spending $200+ on a cheapo 4-shelf unit if I can make something much nicer for a fraction of that.

That's where I have a power cable that's just a hair too short that runs over to my printer. I would move that UPS, but I"m hoping to move soon and it's really not worth it right now.
