I'm not much of a 280ZX fan(much prefer 240Zs and 1600 roadsters), but this looks interesting. How much would parts cost and how hard is it to fix said problems?

Yeah, my friend had a 280ZX for a while. It ran pretty good, but we could Fred Flintstones brake from both the driver and passenger seats.
