trying to think of a band/artist I heard a year ago over the speakers at a concert. Sounded dead up like Fever Ray/The Knife; vocals were filtered an octave or two lower, it was pretty minimal electronic music, but I know it ain't those dudes! Who the heck could it be?

80s/90s. pop song, starts with guys vocalizing like OOOOOOOOWEEEOOOOOWOOHOOOHWEEE WHOA OH OH a few times before the singing starts and I think it might be repeated before each chorus of verse. From what I remember they had british-sounding accents. IT IS NOT JUNGLE LOVE BY MORRIS DAY AND THE TIME. Please help.

I'm not looking to identify a song, but what song is sampled as the beat in these songs: The Herbaliser - Goldrush - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=st09w_WDEbA (starting at :35) Cut Chemist - The Garden - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHhlaspXVgo (starting at 1:11) I have gone down all the usual routes like google and whosampled.com but can't find anything.

I haven't been able to find a matching version, but you may have better luck.

I'm trying to remember a song/theme. It's got a very "happy" vibe. It's largely harmonica based and it has some more instruments in there (possibly a guitar) but has no vocals. It could be a movie theme or I may be way off. I recorded myself humming the tune of the song: removed The bit above is the Harmonica solo, and as far as I know, the most recognisable tune in the song. I repeated it twice. breadshaped fucked around with this message at 03:18 on Dec 22, 2013 |

A friend dragged me into H&M and I heard this song that I need to know what the heck it was or it will continue to fester in my brain-box. It was a very distorted/Mooninites sounding chorus- crazy electronica. "CRAAZY YOU DRIVE ME CRAZY" followed by a children's chorus "YOU DRIVE ME WIIIIIIILLLLD" And it looped over and over. Hideously catchy. It's something Justice might have made, but they didn't. Late 2000s I'm sure.

I heard a song in Nordstrom that was a woman singing. It was a contemporary song, with lyrics that went something like "hey pretty girl" and something about "spend you day sleeping in your motel room" or something. Okay so its a rap song, I THINK maybe its Wiz Khalifa but I'm not 100% positive. All I know is that its a really poppy upbeat rap song, and at the end of it the guy says (not sings) like "let your girl love who she wants to love" or something along those lines

Wondering if any1 could help me with this. A song that would be played in coffeshops. Women's voice, sung softly. I know it was a bit hit song in the late '90's, 2000's. I belive the lyrics say "if I could see the world, all over againnnn" Any ideas? Kinda a slow tempo poppy love song.

Not a song, but as good a place as I can think of to ask. Probably late 80s, there was a broadcast of Casey Kasem's American Top 40. In one of the stories, he mentioned a band that, in order to get out of their record contract, used "The ????? Maneuver" or "The ????? Move". They deliberately recorded a bad album to force the record company to drop them. The album name came from a chess maneuver, designed to sacrifice a lesser piece to lure an opponent into exposing a greater piece, or something similar. For some reason, I remember it being someone like Alan Parsons Project, or another progressive rock band, but I am sure I am mixing up some details. VVV Bravo! I was listening to someone stream their drive last week and was wondering if anyone could identify a song he had put into a mix. I uploaded the pertinant part on tindeck. It was put into a mix so I have a hard time making out the lyrics, can anyone help? It sounds 80's-ish. I can make out "take it away, into the ???", "never again".

I heard a song on the radio today, it was a mix/mashup of an unknown song by MGMT with Wildcat by Ratatat. I know for sure it was MGMT because I recognized the vocals and I know for sure it was Wildcat by Ratatat because of the characteristic tiger/cat sound they have in there. Has anyone heard this? Google only gives me something with Kid Cudi and that isn't it.

I heard this song on a college radio station in the Boston area. It's some sort of electronica or techno or dance, probably less than a year old. It featured a clip of some woman saying "I love the matrix", repeated ad nauseum, and basically no other vocals. Very catchy beat. Googling "I love the matrix" is extremely useless, for obvious reasons. Anybody recognize it?

Music nerds: I am not looking for any particular song, but just songs that lead off with a I v progression. Any and all songs that start like this are welcome. For those that don't know what that means, it means songs that start off with the interval of the first two chords found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHIRXru3JRs it's a very Radiohead/Coldplay kind of sound these days, but I'm looking for all others. Feel free to direct me to the Radiohead and Coldplay songs, too, because I'm not intimately familiar with their entire volumes.

I heard a song yesterday and I tried really hard to remember some of the lyrics, but I've already forgotten it. I recently heard on the radio that uses the instrumental track from this Bob Marley & Lauryn Hill song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JREcKmXDeAs I was a little upset when the song on the radio wasn't the song I thought it was, but after listening, it wasn't terrible and I'd like to know who it was by. Sounded like perhaps Erykah Badu or some similar chick. I should point out that it's not a cover (not Colbie Caillat).

Went to see DJ A-Trak a couple nights ago and he had a song early in his mix that was kind of 80's synthpoppy sounding, but kind of dark, and it kept saying something like "We listen to the RA-DI-O!" or something. It was pulsing and awesome. Any ideas?

I'm looking for a certain version of a song I can't seem to find anywhere. The song is "The Song of the Volga Boatmen." Somewhere, I heard a version of the song without any vocals. It was all instrumental, but it sounded like the full orchestra, just with some instrument taking the vocal lines. It's definitely NOT the Glenn Miller version, or any jazzy cover. There's no swing feel in the one I heard. I have a horrible feeling I heard it in some movie score or video game somewhere, and they just did the piece for the movie and never released a recording of it, but I'm hoping someone somewhere has got a lead. It doesn't even have to be the specific version I heard, just an orchestral arrangement with no words.
