Feh. The only mods I roll with are weapon and armor addition type mods. Well, basically. I have project nevada, UH which I don't really use any more, tried AWOP and realized I didn't like it, and uh... that's about it, really. To be honest, I should probably disable 80% of my armor mods because I only roll around with the Geonox Restored one and the chinese stealth armor one. At least until brainglitch finishes up my commisioned suit of armor :keke: I'm a disgustingly simple modder when it comes to actually playing.

Hey, I'm busy. I haven't had time to finish the gecko cock mod yet. It's coming, no worries.

Also, I'd like to give a shout out to Ahztek, the world's worst weapons modder, for putting a negative rotation on just about all of his guns thereby mostly loving over the possibility of true iron sights. This, by the way, is why so many of the guns rear and front sights don't line up. Discovered this wonderful tidbit a couple days ago and I'm now going back to fix it all. Thank you, good sir, may a gecko ram his happy bits up your nether regions!

The current build has a total of 250+ weapons including subvariants. We are waiting on the new patch, one more weapon creation, one more texture creation, and possibly up to two more weapon ports before Anime Schoolgirl starts on the new leveled lists for the build. In the meantime, been nailing down the iron sight fixes and other small bugs.

I actually didn't have that much time when I was making it, but I'm glad people think it turned out pretty ok. I'll probably make another one in a similar vein, mostly to demonstrate dumb and/or funny new vegas mods I come across.

If anyone has some free time on their hands, I could probably use some help in making some retarded weapons (to take an example, a gun firing repconn toy rockets), it shouldn't really be too demanding work.

To anyone that volunteered to help create a list of guns with incorrect iron sights, no need to worry about it any more. We've got a handle on it internally now and I'd say about 80% of the affected guns are fixed (or as good as we're happy with) by now. Once we're done with it, production will begin to ramp down. I'm aiming for an end of April, beginning of May release at this point.

Also, we're tentatively beginning to form a new branch of The Armory, but only based on interest and how many people are interested in actually giving a hand. The plan would be to rename 2.0 of The Armory to The Armory: Reloaded and the second branch would be The Armory: Re-Armored. Remember that armor modding system we discussed a bunch of pages back? Well, that would be the plan with the separate branch. But we'll need a couple more people who are willing to help create the suits and someone who can look into the script required to do the armor modding system.

Shouldn't be all that daunting, as I'm positive we can scope out the script that FO3 modders used to use to mod weapons and apply it towards armor modding here in NV.

It's possible that you're holding a .223 pistol from CFWNV, which isn't supported by WME mods. To further confound the problem, WME standardized "That Gun" and added it to the leveled lists as ".223 Pistol", too. The WME ".223 Pistol" can be modded; the CFWNV cannot.


EDIT: Man, I just went back to playing Fallout 3 with FWE 6.03 and MMM. The combination of FWE running on its harshest settings and MMM's unleveling features makes the game so unforgiving. No more packed medical kits, stockpiles of ammunition, or radioactive zones that you can just waltz through with impunity. Plus, FWE's "placed loot removal" is genius, and it's something that hasn't been attempted yet in NV. It's one thing to only find a handful of bullets on the guy you just killed because the loot lists have been reduced, but it doesn't help when you have every hand-placed stash memorized. What's with all of these abandoned homes stocked with stimpaks, ammunition, and doctor's bags, anyway? And MMM's unleveled creatures means that you could find yourself going toe to toe with something 10 or 12 levels above you if you aren't careful.

In other words, when the hell is Project Nevada going to release its goddamned rebalancing plugins?

I ended up taking a slightly unplanned break from modding (when you spend all day wrangling Fortran for your project, the last thing you want to do is code more), but figure I oughtta actually finish it now.

I'm thinking of modeling some more classic video game energy weapons. Does this sound like a good idea? If so is there anything anybody wants to see in particular? I was thinking of doing either the plasma gun from Doom or the one from Xcom.

Now that I've actually /played/ a bit with version 1.5 of The Armory installed I have to say the one thing that's bothering me about it is the fact that all the weapons are using the same generic sounds (doing that tiny mod of This Machine to use proper Garand firing sounds made me a bit more aware of sound deficiencies)

That being said, I'd like to begin a sub-mod that substitutes better firing sounds in. The AK-variations in particular are crying out for a more appropriate firing sound.

Anyone have a good source of weapons sounds they can hook me up with?

Might want to start on the current build that I'm uploading right now then. The 2.0 update is content complete as of tonight, minus mesh updates for iron sight fixing and other tweaks.

Also, I believe Anime Schoolgirl said he was going to try to make sound edit mods easier by doing something with the ESM, but that he couldn't due to FNVEdit/GECK crashing as a result of the sheer amount of weapons in the mod. He could probably explain it better than me.
