I feel like this is a trap objective and when you hit the number the CO is like "you did the math wrong, dumbkopf." 63.9 million kroner isn't 30 million C-Bills, it's like 128 million. Unless Lestrade managed to decrease the value of the Commonwealth's treasury in just six years. loving Lestrade.

The interest rate is something along the lines of 2.3 something C-bills per Kroner right now, due to the invasion. Then again, interest rates fluctuate pretty wildly and only C-Bills remain fairly constant. 1 C-Bill is theoretically worth approximately $9, IIRC (which means that 9 million C-bill Atlas actually costs about 86 million dollars) while the 72 million C-bill Defiance costs over 650 million. So, from 212% the value of a c-bill to 43%. If the Combine Yen also lost 75% of it's value is it now worth less than it costs to produce? E: also how the poo poo is the Defiance the most expensive machine? The thing uses a light engine.

Silly Defiance Industries, everyone knows Draconis Combine pays people in Katanas. But yes, Lestrade being in charge has done a lot to ruin the economy and the Clan Invasion isn't exactly building consumer confidence. VVVV The Friendly Persuaders carry automatic shotguns. More like "un-katanas." And by that I mean they get paid by not getting chopped in to pieces by the Friendly Persuaders. E: if we're talking about the Defiance prototype, that's probably been surpasses by the stuff in the XTROs. Defiance Industries of Furillo has a prototype machine that uses an experimental Clan XL engine built on-site. Supposedly the engine alone costs as much as an entire Mech company of IS2 machines. I also wonder if that's $9 in 1984 dollars, from when BTech was first invented (christ it's almost as old as I am). So actually $18 if you go by that metric. edit: I'd say let the three jumpers deal with the investigators and have the commando go nuts. An HPG from Tharkad to Coventry will go just via HPG. But a lot of the nowhere planets have small facilities that aren't set up to handle everything that needs to be sent. So the priority stuff goes by HPG on a small world, whereas most everything does on a big one.

Trochanter posted:eh, just as well. Cellphones are probably lostech too. Yup, they are. Which is fine, because those ComDroids and ComBerries and cPods would've been expensive as hell. 1 c-bill a millisecond is the lowest possible cost, and it raises exponentially when you add video or worse, have the message genetically encoded so that only the intended recipient can open it; and then rises exponentially again if you pay for priority service and then rises even higher when you pay to have the message sent now rather than waiting a month for the next batch transmission to go out... ... so, basically, HPGs are fast but even in the grimdark future it still takes six months to get your e-mail. I have a feeling that the identity of Rain may be more important in the future, assuming that wasn't just some fluff that PTN wrote for this update. Ex-Lohengrin, ex-Loki, assigned to kill Morgan Kell but relenting at the last minute, rejecting an offer to join the Kell Hounds? Definitely sounds important. Nice shot flash broiling that ostentatious statue. Looks like all 3 of the jump-jet crew had the same idea though, only the Valkyrie took the shot first. Now to do some property damage. How much are those Stingers and tanks worth anyway, C-bill wise? While heading back to pop the train might be funny, it might take a bit too long for the Commando. Better just move away from those gas tank looking cylinders and blow those up and possibly cause a chain reaction for more property damage to fulfill the requirement.
