If you live in Long Island and/or Brooklyn and haven't seen BTMI you just aren't trying. I used to live in SC, now I live in GA and I've seen BTMI at least 8 times in 4 different states.

Ska Thread; I need your help! I'm making a CD for work and I'm calling it lovely ska covers. I have several, all the RBF stuff, I just remembered the Less than Jake Greased stuff, various cure covers, that cover of freshman, but I want to organize it from oldest song to newest. Are there some sweet old songs that got ska covered? I think the oldest I have is Hippos groovy kind of love, or RBF talking 'bout a revolution. Send halp please. Also are there any "classics" that have been covered that I missed?

aricoarena posted:I come from California, the east coast is tiny. You have no excuses not to see them unless you are in southern Florida. Yea total bullshit there. You can get from Tijuana to Vancouver in 24 hours nonstop driving. In that same amount of time you can go from Miami to Syracuse, NY which isn't even at the top of the east coast. You travel in 3 countries on the west coast in the same time it takes to not even cross the entirety of the east coast. Now the northeast most major cities are really loving close together, 2-4 hours apart tops between the major ones which is awesome. Where I live in the southeast it takes almost two hours just to get to Atlanta, which is where my band plays our "local" shows. Me and loldance grew up in SC and if a show wasn't in Charlotte, NC which was about 45 minutes away we drove to Atlanta, or Knoxville or Wilmington all of which were 4 hour drives easy. If we were lucky a show that missed Charlotte would hit Columbia which was only a 2 hour drive. Road trips 4 lyfe. Josh Wow fucked around with this message at 02:24 on May 7, 2011 |

I would routinely see shows in Sacramento and the Bay area if it was someone I really wanted to see. Like RBF, Streetlight,Big D(when they were still good) Leftover Crack, mostly I would just have to drive the 4 hours to see. 4 hours is like 4 states back here.

Instead of being a major jerkwad and listing the 33 Bomb shows I've been to (I'm a big nerd and keep a list of every show I attend), I'll just happily inform y'all that one of Jeff's social media accounts claims he's done recording for Vacation.

"Ska the third wave: Cover It Up" "Metalliska" "Skankaholics Unanimous" "We Are Not Devo" And whatever the Op Ivy tribute album was called: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpWrGBlr8RQ

So a show has been announced in my area, July 24th, Reel Big Fish and Streetlight Manifesto. Two bands I have wanted to see live since I started loving Ska. How good are these guys live? also, I remember hearing something about RBF's Singer leaving a few months back. Do they already have a replacement?
