Jump to behind the train, then run forward at full speed and blow your piloting check so you can skid through several cars. Clearly this is the way to go. Say, that building the Javelin is near is hardened, right? Can the Javelin still bash through its walls to get inside? 'Cause I'm thinking it'd be a lot easier to bring down said building from the inside - and besides, if you get shot to poo poo the resultant explosion should devastate the building.

He can just walk right into it, forces a psr against some damage, but the building takes a punch as well, and then enemies shooting at him hit the building as well as him, and light weapons can't get him at all. So get in there, and start shooting up the building, and die gloriously.

Okay, just standing near something red and dying should put you over the edge, but the same can be said about anything blue. I'm looking at you in particular Mr. Train Wrecker. Stand well back, from anything even resembling blue. Right now death is even high up on priorities than causing damage, so long as you're near a Red hex. Move less, don't jump, invite some fire.

I imagined both the Mechwarrior 4 Stackpole Explosion sound effect and the Starfox 64 Smart Bomb detonation sound effect at the same time for that refinery going up. Taking out the train might be a good idea if possible if only to try and remove evidence of how they arrived.

I mentally subbed in the sound from when they blew up the cement mixer on that one episode of Mythbusters mixed with the sound of bomb/artillery tests (which I only know because I live near Aberdeen Proving Grounds). Though I imagine it's one of those explosions you feel in your chest, and that had to be the scariest part of it for whatever civilians weren't killed in the blast.

Epic. Just.....fantastic. Except for the residential destruction, but hopefully that shouldn't hurt the Home Guard very much. Just a bit more killing of red buildings, and blowing oneself up in smaller, but similarly glorious fireballs, and we'll have a mission that is gloriously successful. Unlike our last one...

Well, let's see how that update turned ou- ... Goddrat. I imagine it might have looked something like this. I mean, I was expecting some collateral damage if you did blow up the refinery... but I certainly wasn't expecting that. Calling it now, Valkyrie for MVP. Not sure anyone else is going to be able to top that, even taking into account that it also accidentally caused a shitload of damage to civilian stuff.

According to the Lyran field manual thing you can say two things about is it's culture. There is class elitism, but at the same time it is a very open and tolerant society and the Lyrans guarantee food, shelter, education and transportation for every citizen (it literally says this is the book). It also says that _most_ Lyrans have at least one year or university education. It is not House Kurita or something.

OK not to be a fly in the ointment here but who names their organization "Loki"? Loki? The Norse Trickster god? How about just "The Shadowy Organization with Nefarious Intentions" while we're being so transparent? And everyone acts like somehow this guy heading it up is totally on the level? If someone comes up to you and claims to belong to an entity named "Loki" just shoot them in the belly, no questions asked. Edit: I told you not to jump jet out of that. Even if you'd just shot the building and ignited the vapors from a distance, you might have spared the residentials some damage if your mech didn't go up with the refinery. Whale biologist.

The Lyran Intelligence Corps has Loki because it is often useful to have a secret bureau full of rabid dogs willing to kill, die, and blow poo poo up for the state. They are supposed to be terrifying and mysterious, and if you shoot one in the belly, a bunch of sociopaths with state sanction will rape your house and burn your family. The Commonwealth has Heimdall because the LIC has a pack of psychotics on staff, you see? Unless this timeline is radically different, Duke Lestrade has no direct connection to Loki, but he has the General of the Armies in his pocket and his creepy fingers in many, many pies.

I dunno about that. The refinery was going to go up in flames no matter how they ignited the fuel vapor, creating a similarly sized explosion that would have wiped out those residential buildings as well. The Valkyrie had a clock to die, so taking itself out and contributing to the property damage goals at the same time was the smartest move. The residential building damage was really unfortunate, though.

Technically, Loki started out as a nickname for a covert ops group that didn't exist. It took hundreds of years for them to even get caught and for the Archon to have to admit they were real, and by then the nickname had inertia.
