Esteban is not a biscuit making cat, nor is he a purring cat (other than when he thinks I'm dead, apparently). I will see what I can do tonight. I also have a great trick where he CANNOT STAND a battery standing up on it's end. He'll jump down from on top of the bookshelf, just to knock it over, then go back, rinse and repeat.

it'd be awesome if you could get really fine-resolution gps poo poo and have a collar on your cat and get realtime cat location data

I put a collar on Esteban for the first few days. Then I came home from work and he had managed to get his back leg through the collar past the knee joint, and he couldn't get it out, so he was stuck in a ridiculous position. It was even one of those breakaway collars, but he didn't break it. No idea, and no more collars since then. edit: catte heatmap would look just like a normal temperature heat map. Sun rays = cat position.

i have one of those cat cameras that goes on their collar but its sort of a waste because it only does lovely low res vga, she doesn't go outside anymore, and you have to retrieve it and plug it into USB within 2 hrs or the battery dies and takes all the pic with it

He is chipped, I got him through the Dallas SPCA which is surprisingly well funded, and he was chipped there. I do video editing as a day job, so if I got some art/music assets, I could make a pretty pro Esteban trailer.

wait so "aww that's sweet" would've been fine in your conference call w/o the voice crack?

American Jello posted:http://www.petfinder.com/blog/2011/05/20/lost-pet-reunions-video-tornad/?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=Facebook&utm_campaign=Social+Media Meet Velcro. Those Esteban pics were reminding me of him. He took just fine to a harness, liked riding in the car, I could take him basically everywhere. So we'd take him camping and he'd sleep in the tent with us. There was one walk-in campground we couldn't take him into for some reason so we had to leave him in the back of the truck for one night against my better judgement. We got back to the truck first thing in the morning, and found that loving raccoons had got into the truck. They had slid open one of the canopy windows, got inside, and tore into the cat food, and Velcro was gone We ran around the parking lot frantically, asking everyone we saw if they'd seen a little black cat. After about 5 minutes, we heard a meow and he came trotting up. He looked like he'd been hiding in a tree for hours.

JawnV6 posted:wait so "aww that's sweet" would've been fine in your conference call w/o the voice crack? Actually I was still on the call when I typed that so it came out all muddled. I meant I THOUGHT "aww that's so sweet" and thought maybe that was the end of it, like oh it didn't affect me that much, and then when I started actually talking out loud my voice cracked because I'm apparently a big softie
