Been honing my pumpkin carving skills in the last few months. Been working on doing a documentary project, sort of straightforward and "static", something that would look great on a mug or something. Here's one from back in October when I got started: (honestly haven't had time to upload since then)

Suicide Watch posted:Where do you live that you're able to go skiing in May? South Western Canada! Whistler-Blackcomb is open until the 30th, I think...well technically just Blackcomb. Here's another from that same day, although I'm not nearly as happy with it as the other.

TheAngryDrunk posted:Love the first one. Yup I was there last weekend. Make sure you check the Caltrans website to see if Hwy 1 is open. Currently it's closed on the south end below the Kirk Creek Campground near Gorda. For photography Julia Pheifer State Park and anywhere along the ocean rocks is great for sunsets. For hiking I went into Pheifer state park and Limekiln which were great. I definitely recommend Limekiln. I only spent a day around there so I don't have many other recommendations.

I'm pretty new to photography, maybe one day I'll be able to get shots like the ones posted in this thread, they're pretty amazing. Until that day, here are a some of mine that I think are decent: I didn't realize there was poo poo on the lens in these next two and I've been too lazy to reupload them to flickr after taking the spots out :X Not sure if this one really fits into landscape now that I think about it. Lastly, I filled up my flickr this month, and don't know how the forums will handle images on picasa so here are a couple of my most recent shots: https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/geWXJmyA9wwu9RH7HGXn2g?feat=directlink https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/if9k80_ZCE95I6MraqrY-Q?feat=directlink

Thoogsby posted:Dread do you use a polarizer? Nope, on the sigma 10-20 (or I would imagine any super wide) you get strange results as the lens is wider than the area that it polarizes. That shot I used a ND8 filter though, probably didnt need it but had it on the lens.
