I'd like to vote A but the part of me that loves the FWL is afraid that this looting would come at their expense. Though any attention for house Marik, whether it's them getting their asses kicked or winning the war single handedly, is better then obscurity. I vote A Oh and as a side note, I was playing some megamek recently with a friend and was running tech 1 against his Jade Falcons, told him to bring a star and I'd match BV in tanks and mechs. The hunchback I brought wound up being the MVP of that game as it withstood about 4 turns of direct fire from a Blood Asp and a Cougar, plus REDACTED constantly attempting to murder it while the Jagermech behind it went down with a whimper by losing a leg and the fall damaging its gyro, a centurion blew up in one volley from a Black Lanner and my Schrek PPC carrier skidded turn 1 into a building and was immobilized there. When the pilot of the hunchback finally ejected he had 4 wounds, the mech had no legs, one arm and probably about 5 points of armor left combined. He did get some pretty nice shots off with his AC20 though. Gotta love the hunchback.

A is the only sensible choice (plus more face time for my favourite FWL) B is the Hey I want to be a Drac puppet choice C is the boring and predictable choice (and anything we can do to prevent the birth of victor is only a good thing) D would be fun but if I recall correctly in cannon most of the factory's were slagged till the dragoons came along E is the too dumb to live choice although it would be "interesting" as I if I recall correctly there is both a Steiner and Ward Bloodname in the clans

A, Helm! I thought you said earlier that the Helm Memory Core was lost in this alternative timeline. Does that no longer apply, or is this just a chance for Goons to affect the outcome? Or am I just utterly and completely wrong? Anyway, LosTech!

Affi posted:I got to vote HELM. Red Corsair - There was a point when Katrina Steiner was on the run with her future husband Arthur Luvon and Morgan Kell where she took on the identity of the Red Corsair and hit the Periphery. She thought that her uncle, the then Archon Alessandro Steiner was trying to kill her. In actuality, the assassins were Loki guys sent to take out Luvon who was a member of Heimdall....they hadn't even known Katrina was going to be there. Anyway, Katrina took it badly, and spent years in the Periphery until her little band found some Lostech (what exactly was never revealed) and then came back to help overthrow Alessandro when the latter's "Concentrated Weakness" plan alienated pretty much everyone. In the modified continuity, this all appears to have happened as is, though at some point after taking the throne, Katrina was assassinated by Lestrade's guys, letting him and Frederick Steiner take over with Melissa as their helpless puppet. Except that Melissa managed to leave her bodyguard/duplicate Jeana Clay behind in her place while she hits the road as the new Red Corsair. Team Banzai - Actually, this got FASA into trouble. They basically stole Buckaroo Banzai and his people from the movie Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension. In Battletech, they're a regiment sized unit with a higher than normal percentage of scientists and techs among them, and Dr. Banzai himself is a technical genius. In the canon, he's responsible for helping set up the NAIS (New Avalon Institue of Science) and of leading the way on many of the new discoveries (and re-discoveries) between 3025 and the 3060s. In the modified continuity, he's traveling with Kell and the Red Corsair, where as normally he'd still be working at the NAIS. Salome Ward - Salome is a member of the Kell Hounds and Morgan Kell's lover, and eventually his wife. She's important because she's a direct descendent of a member of the SLDF who left with Kerensky and joined the Clans and founded the Ward Bloodname. This allows her son, Phelan Kell, to claim that Bloodname and get into the upper hierarchy of the Clans, eventually becoming Khan Phelan Ward. In the modified continuity, that hasn't happened yet. The interesting thing that could happen with E would be Salome taking Phelan's place in the whole "claim a Bloodname and political power in the Clans" concept. jng2058 fucked around with this message at 17:57 on May 22, 2011 |

basically Dr. Banzai is the ultimate for the inner sphere so imagine if he gets first crack at a memory core, He would find the hidden files and the SLDF porn cache, Extremely Hot Crab on Locust action.
