I listened to this on your suggestion. I don't know Michelle Biloon but I like Maria Bamford so I didn't need much prodding to check it out.

I enjoyed it, but I'm not sure about the format. On one hand, it was new and different and I appreciate that. But much of the content seemed like background noise and I found I was easy distracted and often wasn't giving it the full half-attention I usually give to a podcast while I'm working.

Even before you mentioned it, I was thinking about the amount of editing it must have taken to get it to a point where it could be published. I don't know if the end result justifies the amount of work that must have been put into it, unless of course she has interns or Kevin Smith doing it for free.

I'm really happy you checked it out. The James Adomian episode is my personal favorite, and the Tom Scharpling one is good too, both of them aren't overshadowed by crazy loud background noises. I think the Steve Agee ep is going to be better; one of the places they visit is Griffith Park, which is pretty chill.

Jim Hamilton did the producing for the majority of the episodes, but she has an intern working on them now.

I just finished listening to Jen Kirkman's new album and her delivery is some of the best I have ever heard. If you want to listen to it for free

You can listen to it there. Between her and Amy Schumer it really is a great year for female comedians. I would definitely classify Jen as almost like a Paul F Tompkins type comedian to some extent and Amy Schumer as a female Daniel Tosh. Definitely check out that album and "Cutting."

So whats the deal with CBB? First losing Cyberthug and now cutting out his old writing partner... Is Scott Aukerman aggressively trying to centralize ear wolf so he can increase his pile of gold?

I guess I don't blame him, but I don't think Jerry Minor left on good terms, and I doubt the co-creator of "comedy death ray" did either.

Jerry Minor definitely left on good terms. He posted later on AST that the Earwolf contract was to basically sign away 50% of future profits from the show to Scott and Jeff and the Cyberthug guys decided that they would rather develop it on their own, so they never signed on. It was totally a business decision and probably a good one since there's no real advantage to signing away your future profits to Earwolf right now since they offer little advantage over just setting up the podcast on your own. I bet we'll have another Cyberthug takeover episode of CBB in the future.

As for the name change, they've been a lot less forward about that, but B.J. Porter was never really involved in the radio show. It's still probably just a CYA on Jeff's part.

They still have to figure out how they're going to make money on this whole thing.

I was there for the interruption, too. It was really fun. I was surprised they didn't actually remove those two yelling douches for repeatedly standing up. If the old Four Loko weren't gone I would have said they were exhibiting classic LOKO symptoms.

Also the episode of the The F Plus I sat in on is finally up.

OH! And an interesting news bit. My friend who does The Flophouse Podcast just got hired as a writer for The Daily Show! So now there are two Daily Show writers on that podcast. Won't change how funny the show is but the host may sound more self-confident now. Also they are doing a live Flophouse in June here in NYC. So many announcements!

Oh man. I listen to a bunch of comedy podcasts. But never gave the nerdist a try until today. Most of it was pretty ok. some funny bits, (though I tend to dislike podcasts that don't have a theme. If they just have people talking about stuff, it never really grips me.)

But then when they burst into impromptu song at the end. CRYING WITH LAUGHTER.

I like this nerdist fellow.

He said "Sorry I was distracted by that guy doing an impersonation of The Situation"

And Doug said something to the effect that 10 years ago that sentence wouldn't have meant anything.

Personally I felt Hardwick really hammering the D&D nerd and sex jokes. He's super blue. But I laughed so what do I know...

I was at the show as well. It did seem like Hardwick was relying heavily on the sex jokes and latching onto nerd references, but he was still pretty funny. The blue part was pretty out of character though.

I was a little disappointed with the guests for the shows. Maybe it's just me but Rob Cantrell seemed to really phone everything in. Myq Kaplan was amazing for the interruption though.

So, I listened to my first episode of Pod F. Thompcast, and it's another keeper. Something about unrehearsed, stream-of-consciousness recordings just get me, and he, Bill Burr and MBMBAM seem to fit the bill perfectly. Judge John Hodgman is the most structured thing I listen to.

I tried to listen to Jordan, Jesse, Go, but it just takes so long to get going. I don't even remmeber how far I got in time-wise, but they introduced themselves twice, then kept talking about how popular and attractive Tig Notaro was. I might give it another chance later, but I honestly don't think I have the patience for it.

Going into it, I thought an hour of listening to him rambling would be too much for me, but I absolutely love it, and he manages to keep it absolutely hilarious the entire time.

And for some reason, every time he pulls away from the mic and yells something, I just lose it. Every. Time.
