Funny Games owns so hard. I love Paul  Also it has Naked City songs in it, which makes it even better.Adam's Apple's, Flame and Citrone, and The Baader Meinhof Complex are also really good. I swear to god Mads Mikkelsen is in every Danish movie ever.

I know over the past 20 years or so there have been several different Merlin tv miniseries, and I never looked into any of them. But there's two seasons of a still running Merlin show that I think the BBC did that are up for streaming that are quite excellent. It's kind of like Smallville in Camelot, except it's actually good.

Everyone here should go and watch Deadhead Miles tonight. I added it to my queue for some unknown reason, and never watched it because the cover makes it look pretty boring. Well the other night I watched it, and it was really good and had a lot of funny parts. It's plotless though, so don't expect much. I guess the movie was really obscure, never getting an official release and only playing on tv once. I love when netflix add's obscure movies like this. Been enjoying Sherlock lately too. Occasionally the writers will throw in something so, so stupid though.  Your gun is a semi automatic! The bullets will ricochet!*villain runs away* So dumb. But over all the show is pretty entertaining.

In the tunnel he was at a hopeless disadvantage, but he had to do something to save them, so he made up some stupid poo poo that would fool the dumb criminals.

Sherlock is fantastic, thank you thread. The problem of the second episode is that very clever characters can only be as clever as their writer. The second episode was written by Stephen Thompson, not like the other two which are written by one of the co-creators. The episode is still good, but it's a noticeable difference. It also has a different director than the other two.

I started watching the 2005 Dr Who series. Am I correct in thinking that the show also had another "new" series since then? This is the first I've gotten into the series and it's pretty entertaining in a corny British sci-fi way.

The Doctor occasionally "dies" and regenerates with a new appearance and a new actor will take place of the old. In the 2005+ series there have been three doctors, Chris Eccleston, David Tennant and Matt Smith.

When you get to the next season you'll see. And just stick with it. If something doesn't make sense, just power through, it will eventually. It is really corny at times, and some episodes are blah, but it gets epically awesome when Steven Moffat takes over in series 5. Another important bit of advice for newbies to Dr. Who is not to wander into the Dr. Who thread or get into discussions with serious fans. They've seen a lot of classic Dr. Who so you'll get confused fast, and pretty much everybody has a widely different opinion on what is worthy and what isn't.

Looks like netflix just dropped half of the episodes of Battlestar Galactica in random pattern. They were all available yesterday.  Is this a glitch or something that happens for some kind copyright reason? Is this something Netflix does a lot with no heads up? Need my fix dammit! e: it was a glitch and they're back

Just a heads up, but Carl Sagan's Cosmos will no longer be available on instant streaming as of June 1st. If you have never seen the series, or don't know much about Sagan, I cannot recommend it highly enough. It was a 13 part series on PBS from 1980, and it is about literally everything, from the immensity of the universe, to the complexity of atomic structures, the elegance of the scientific method, mathematics, physics, the chemical elements, biology, history, human achievement and human failures. For many people, including myself, this series is very much a life changing experience as it will impact your world view and expand your knowledge in many ways. There's also another small independent film I've talked about before, The Man From Earth, which will also not be available on instant on June 1st. Lower quality videos of Cosmos are still available on youtube and google video, although sometimes segmented, and you can always have the DVDs delivered.
