The best part is he did it correct once at least. Then he decided "Honey get the camera!"

My riding friends and I went out and did a little "Moto Photo" day on Saturday. It pays to who friends who are photographers. Here are some that I threw up on Imgur. http://imgur.com/a/G4d4N#yHGXY Not sure why the images are so noisy/grainy. I'm assuming it has something to do with the fact that I downloaded them off of Facebook. I'll have to get all of them from my friends on a disc or flash drive.

I love how a superhero's vehicle is a tuned, but completely road legal, comfortable bike with great touring range and easy maintenance.

Sad news today/this morning from last nights TT sidecar practice session. This is Sidecar outfit #15 ridden by Bill Currie, 67 and his passenger Kevin Morgan, 59. Within 15 minutes of me taking this photo at the bottom of Bray Hill they crashed at Ballacrye, red flagging the session. We didn't find out until this morning but it turned out to be fatal for them both. Sad times at the TT already and here's a few choice shots from the solo session:

Shame about those two, apparently Currie had been racing IOM since '69. Also: Crossposting from the Racing thread: You can listen to the IOM TT Radio online. http://www.manxradiott.com/ I'm lucky enough to be able to listen to internet radio at work That's my next weeks listening sorted.

There's so many doomsayers that came out of the woodwork with comments like "what was a 67 year old doing racing ?". The guys been a successful racer since 1969 or so and there's no reason that lap would have been any different to any other lap they've done. We can only hope they were on the best lap of their lives at the time, and that they at least died instantly rather than hours later in pain. Its a sombre start to the TT really, crashes don't usually start until race week

I suggested Heritage because they would have to do less work (similar fender style etc) DILLIGAF fucked around with this message at 13:29 on Jun 2, 2011 |

In fairness, MotoGP has been fairly boring this year so far. Edit: Obviously the biker was doing wrong here, and shouldn't have run from the cop afterwards on top of it. That said, why did he grab hold and keep hold on the bike?! Again, not meant as any kind of apologetics toward the riders action. I just think the cop took a bad situation and made it worse. It's akin to grabbing hold of a car starting to speed away thru an open window, why would you do that when you have the plate and have the option to give chase/radio for help etc.? nsaP fucked around with this message at 06:57 on Jun 3, 2011 |
