I paid $150 for a roller that was just rusty withno key/title. that thing turned out to be in mostly AWESOME shape. too bad I'm only using it for parts I think it would have made a great runner. I think there's pics of it in here somewhere: http://gnarlywrench.blogspot.com I usually take a wrench to things before I even get a chance to grab the camera. But in this case I snapped a couple pics as soon as it was off the truck.

Good point, trying to set up meetings a couple days later always ends in my e-mails getting ignored the day of. It's all the way in Oly which, in today's traffic, will be a 3 hour drive if I'm lucky.

Just bought the 1988 Honda Hawk NT650 I posted on the last page. Too bad I can't get it started... I'm about to get a trailer to take it home tomorrow. There's a tear in one of the carburetor diaphragms. Put in new sparkplugs and battery too. Came with some nice stuff including a front wheel and rear stand. The tires already on it are like new but from 2 years ago.

Thoughts on this 01' Suzuki Bandit GSF600? Walk-about of said bike http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yea3lni1Wg4 He's asking 2200 obo. I have a big loving brother and he wants to get into motorcycling. Seems like a decent first-starter and he actually fits on said bike unlike say a 250 ninja.

Roughly the same power as an SV650, but bigger and heavier. Good bikes with a solid engine though, he could do a lot worse. I'd show up with ~1600 cash and see how it goes, considering he's moving. Check tire ages, chain condition, etc, play up the potential mileage issues, grill him on if the valves have been done, etc.

And it's an hour and a half drive away. Doesn't sound like he really wants to sell it.

Yea, there's been quite a few here too. Saw a guy on one the other day... fully chromed out, extended swing arm, zero gear. Kids these days... What's the point of the extended swing arm anyway?

Keeps it from doing a wheelie as easily. For a quicker launch and to keep them from looping it when they re-grip. Makes for horrible handling from what I've seen, long wheelbase = to the next light brah!

It's ironic as I'm currently trying to get a bike that will do wheelies on demand. Those SMC 690s look like tons o fun.

orthod0ks posted:Wow, so buy an expensive high-performance machine, and then mod it to decrease the performance. Awesome plan. Eh, the Busa was always designed to be a straight-line king, if you drag-race one an extended swingarm combined with lowering straps/links will cut more from your times than more expensive engine mods. That doesn't stop chromed and stretched ones being loving retarded though.

I feel the same way about my 625. Every other bike I've had, I've always looked at other bikes and lusted after certain traits they had. With my motard, it ticks all the boxes for me and I seriously wouldn't trade it for any other bike on the planet. It's not for everybody but for the riding that I do it's perfect (don't care about triple digit speed or the highway, love backroads, being an rear end in a top hat, and generally having a bike with an energetic and carefree demeanor with athleticism to back it up).
